Dragon Star Kung Fu

Switched our son to Dragon Star from another studio over 4 years ago. I can’t say enough good things about Sifu Tom. They prepare you for real world situations, not just going through the motions. The most genuine people you’ll ever meet. My son, husband and daughter are all enrolled and I just recently started tai chi classes. They’re always having events for kids, like movie nights, Halloween parties, etc. You can be yourself here without fear of judgement. It’s definitely a safe place. I hope that Dragon Star will always be a part of our lives.

I love this school! The instructors are experts in their craft and are great with kids and teens. They have taught my children Kung Fu and how to be responsible thoughtful members of our family and society. I can't imagine not having this school be a part of our family. When you enroll here, the instructors really care about the students and want the absolute best for them.

Dragon Star Kung Fu is exactly what their pledge says. They help the students to develop themselves in a positive manor. They instill confidence in students to avoid anything that will reduce mental growth/ self development. The students work as a team to develop the best in themselves and the other students. The Sifus work on developing common sense before self defense. This is a Kung Fu school; they don’t babysit they teach a martial art that could save your life. They strive for excellence. They are motivated. The best part is the dedication from both teachers and students. My kids all started when they were 4 years old. We’re going on 13 years now.

We love Dragon Star Kung Fu! Our kids really enjoy learning this style of martial arts and they have a lot of fun doing it! Sifu Tom and Sifu Tommy are great with the kids! My son has ADHD and can be a handful at times. They are so patient with him all the time teaching him focus and discipline. There are mega schools out there for martial arts with 30+ kids on the floor, at all levels, but that’s not this school and that’s what we love about it. Less students on the floor, with only kids around their skill level, makes a perfect learning environment and personalized attention! We love our Kung fu family at Dragon Star Kung Fu and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a school where your kids will be safe, nurtured and taught the discipline, respect and technique of Kung fu!

My son has been going to Dragon Star for over two years. I had been to a few other martial arts establishments in the area before coming to Dragon Star and just didn't feel comfortable with them. I liked that there weren't teenagers teaching the kids at Dragon Star. It was always Sifu Tom or Benita who were teaching. They have been patient and yet commanded respect. It felt very much like a family atmosphere. I was also looking for my son to be taught a practical style. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is so much more than a martial art that is taught at this school. One of my favorite parts of the training from the very beginning was the little life lessons that are given throughout and that at the end of every class the students are asked to turn to their parent and basically express gratitude and appreciation. The change in my son was immediate and I couldn't have found a better match for him. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for more than just a physical activity or even a sport.
