Blake Thedinga’s therapy was a life changer for me. I have seen multiple physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists over the last 20 years for ongoing pain throughout my body. During my first visit, Blake diagnosed me with two anatomical abnormalities that were the root cause of the pain I have been living with. Within a couple of weeks, my daily pain levels plummeted. Where other PTs I have seen left me to do exercises on a machine or with an assistant, he stayed with me the whole time, ensuring I was doing my exercises correctly and had a complete grasp of how to adapt movements for MY body. And since he most of the exercises he gave me didn’t require props or equipment, I am able to do them whenever, wherever. Blake empowered me with the knowledge and skill to take charge of my own health like no other provider I have seen. For the first time in years, I am motivated to work toward goals I didn’t think were possible. Where other providers with similar skill might come across haughty or condescending, Blake always spoke with humility and compassion. I no longer view PT as something just for the injured, I see it as an essential part of holistic preventive medicine. I encourage anyone seeking physical therapy services to work with Blake Thedinga.

Every couple of years when I need a tune up on my spinal and pelvic problems, I see Erica for therapy and also Sym for massage directed at the current symptoms. Erica is very hands-on in her assessment as she moves my joints through range of motion and notices changes from previous sessions. Sometimes the total assessment takes more than one visit because she addresses the day's bothersome pain right away with muscle insertion release. I always leave appointments with improvement in symptoms. By the end of 6 appointments or so, my immediate discomforts have been addressed, and I have a manageable set of exercises to do on my own. My goal is to avoid back surgery! This aging body will improve only so much, and so I'm glad to know where to find help. Both Erica and Sym are extremely knowledgeable and professional; together, they are an efficient and effective team.

I’ve received excellent and effective care at Discovery Physical Therapy. I have received treatment by two of the PT’s and one assistant PT. All were very well informed on my condition and progress and the care was seamless. The staff is friendly and proficient and the facility has a pleasant atmosphere. They also do a great job managing all the COVID related precautions.

Let me preface this by saying that I can be an irritating patient. When I am in any medical treatment center, I have a tendency to get anxious. That irrational anxiety can be expressed in irritability, perhaps as attempt to find an excuse to leave.

First off, the entire clinic was meticulously cleaned while not feeling overtly "clinical." That in itself reduced my anxiety.

Next, I expect any medical staff to be professional. EVERYONE I encountered at Discovery Physical Therapy was wonderful! I would describe my interactions with the staff as "beyond professional." They seem to have a "Person Before Patient" philosophy. They know their business, but they don't start with business. Expect to be seen as a person first, before jumping into the business. I suppose that approach can be taught, but it seems more like the decision by the owner to hire people of integrity.

Lastly, the care I received was beyond what I expected. My only other experience with physical therapy left me doubting the profession. Here, I got care that was really responsive to my needs and modified to my abilities. Without hesitation, I strongly recommend Discovery Physical Therapy.

To the staff, don't ever underestimate the positive impact you have on your patients! Thank you.
