Nice quiet place. Trails are marked. Use app to navigate. Paper maps at starting point are for a different place and don't correspond to Blackwater Creek.

Very open and sunny so better to do on a cool or cloudy day, The offshoot to the creek was nice and had a bench to sit at. Enjoyed our hike with our dog companion!

This place preserves the native ecosystem of Florida - longleaf pines with an understory of saw palm and wiregrass prairies. It makes you imagine how Florida would have been before 1600s, with recurrent lightning fires shaping this ecosystem. There's a beautiful creek midway in the trail and the sunsets are amazing in the prairies. Thoroughly enjoyed my hike here.
