Visit was for a regular weekend village on a summer Sunday and it was really quiet and a few villagers present. The visit was very short since not a lot was happening. The entrance fee is $10 per person (including children) and cash only. I didn’t expect to pay so much since online reads “Admission $5.00 except for festivals” and was presented to us as a donation so be ready to pay. It seems like best time to visit is during a festival to really make it worth the trip and your money. We visited the restaurant and the beer was way better than the food so maybe just stick to beverages unless you just want the experience of eating soup, a few slices fruit & cheese and bread. We did try two desserts as well and we weren't entirely full. It was an interesting experience and probably won’t visit again, seems like a one time thing. I visited because of TikTok or else would have never known about it before, so maybe a festival is a better experience here.
Knowledgeable craftspeople. They have sheep on site and know how to do every step from shearing to making dye & thread, etc. They make their own bows and arrows. Blacksmith, scribe, a tavern. You can spend a whole day here learning from historical experts for $5. Bring cash. You can do it IN CHARACTER as if you were really in that time period. THE place for immersion!
We went during the harvest festival. $10 for adults and $8 for kids under 12. Seems like there is a lot more to do when there is a festival. Nice little living museum. The theme is 14th century England. There are a few buildings you can enter into and speak with the person in there. There is an archery range you can shoot a bow and arrow, a blacksmith and a small stage like area for plays and singing. There is a restaurant onsite but it was busy and they closed early for the 5pm feast, so we didn't have a chance to enter and try the food. Overall a fun outing for the family.
For what it cost to get in, five dollars, it is worth it. There were some parts of the twenty first century peeking through in places but all in all a nice visit to a totally different time.
A small collection of period accurate buildings, professions, and people. 14th century. Lovely spot, went on a short day trip here- wandered about, saw most everything there was to see, had a meal at the boar's head inn.
$10 for adult entry, we got a meal for two- vegetable stew, must, bread, cheese, half an apple and half a pear for $26.
I could see one spending up to 3-4 hours here if they were to really take their time. It is fairly small, no more than 8-9 buildings, but a great outing. Would come here again if I were in the neighborhood! Definitely recommend to families and enthusiasts.
