I’ve been a member of this church now for over 12 years. Not being a church person growing up in a church community at first I was cautious .
I’m not a Christian though I’m very spiritual And follow earth base traditions .
When I walked in the door the first thing I noticed everybody did not have a Bible in their hand that was a good sign for me !

The concept of letting people choose their spirituality and what to believe or not to believe in a church setting was new to me .

Where you have community and support from one another to explore your own spirituality with Non-biased supportive people .
Without being fed doctrine of just one type of religious teachings fabulous !

One of the reason I love Unitarian Universalist churches is because they have a earth-based section in their church called CUPS where people can share and explore . Early European continent earth based traditions that are commonly called pagan .

If you’re looking for a community that is supporting and loving.
Or you want support in your own journey of spirituality and what that looks like for you .

Maybe you’re a Christian and you’re finding you’re expanding spiritual consciousness , ideas and beliefs are not fitting into the box of Christianity .

Who ever you are ,if your yearning For a spiritual community that’s unbiased and supportive in whatever avenue you choose on your spiritually Journey .
Come check us out at the saltwater Unitarian Universalist Church or a unitarian Universalist Church close to you .
    Be Blessed

Saltwater Unitarian Universalist Church is unique. If you're looking for an open-minded, open-armed, welcoming church, this is the place for you.

During the pandemic, the church closed its doors and offered remote services not just for the congregation, but also for other Unitarian Churches in the region who weren't as technologically advanced, or that didn't have the equipment to do such things. As things have opened back up, they continue to hold remote services, while keeping small in-person services on Sunday mornings.

The church sanctuary is beautiful, with a large full wall window behind the pulpit that allows viewing of the trees that eventually lead into Saltwater State Park. The music director is fabulous and energetic. The minister is kind, thoughtful, and very approachable. The pianist is extremely accomplished and listening to him play is always a treat.

The church also provides a program for children and youth that is thoughtful and dovetails nicely with the sermon of the day, without being preachy or indoctrinating. It's a great place for children to develop friendships.

There are other programs offered by the church like adult religious education classes, book groups, small group ministry, a caring committee, and various other opportunities to meet others while engaging in things that inspire you - from crafting, to social justice, to coming together for movies or games.

The church grounds, apart from being gorgeous and having a maintained trail down to the Saltwater State Park, also sports a full sized labyrinth out front near the memorial garden. People, not just congregants, are encouraged to walk the labyrinth.

Disclaimer - I have a been a member for some time now and I'm trying to be as open and honest as possible in my review. The church, like most other organizations, is imperfect, and has had periods of growing pains. However, that being said, I do not hesitate to recommend Saltwater UU church if you are in the market to find a liberal religious community. The long term members have always been welcoming to new members and they genuinely make the place feel like home for ones spirit.

I have loved this church since I came right after the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001. The minister and all of the congregants were sad, grieving, but reminding each other that love outlasts all. This is a very warm, open, welcoming group. No matter what your sexual orientation, your physical abilities, your educational level, your income or employment status, you are welcome here. Plus, the sense of fun, play and community is excellent!

A church for those who may not have enjoyed previous church experience. The day I first walked through the doors I was nervous because I hadn't willingly stepped into a church in decades. Within two minutes I was enraptured by an intelligent conversation and was invited to join these kind folks for a potluck lunch. I was in awe of these people who had attended (one had napped through most of it) Dr. Martin Luther king Jr's "I Have a Dream" speech and how common it was for the individuals to be involved with social justice in a wide variety of forms. Since that fateful day I am proud to say that my involvement with Saltwater has continued to change my life for the better.

For people who are looking for a liberal religious church, this church may be a fit. Bring your beliefs with you. No restrictive requirements on how you define your spiritual beliefs. Church is very engaged with the community if you want to feel that you are doing good for others.
