Very nice hike if you want some workout. It is steep 1 mile up. You can feel those muscles. I saw on a trail some kids 6-7 years old. We had a lot of fog so couldn’t enjoy the views. Anyhow it was great time in the nature. Hike wasn’t crowded, we went on Saturday afternoon. We will definitely come back when the forecast will show sun!
I realized how out of shape we are. Time to get out more. Also bring a bottle of water for sure. And maybe some walking sticks. I vow to conquer Pinnacle Peak before spring.
Saw this quick trial on Washington Trail Association and thought I would try it out. It says that the loop is 1.8 miles, but I think it is more than that based on linking over to the King County Park system. It was rated as Easy to Moderate for difficulty. I will agree with this rating for the difficulty. There were parts I would rate as hard, but overall it Easy to Moderate.
Dogs are welcome to these trails on leash. I did talk with a couple of women who had a dog not on leash, and was under control, we chatted and they said no one seems to care if you have them under control. So I put my field collar back on and took my dog off leash and we had a better time hiking to the peak. When near or passing other dogs, I did leash my dog.
Once at the top it has a really amazing outlook station. I took my dog up to the top of it and we enjoyed the really amazing view looking over Enumclaw.
Worth the hard hike up as we didn't take the same trails as everyone else. When going back down we did an easier trail and really enjoyed the walk back. Worth the quick hike to get the dog out and to get the burn on!
Great for hikes of any level! I love all the varied trails offered
Lovely trail with interweaving trails to get you to the peak. This trail is similar in length and elevation gain to rattlesnake but I feel it's a bit easier. There is a main road that you could take horses on that takes you to a small field with a picnic bench. From there to the peak/tower is about the last quarter of the hike. Be sure to remember which trails brought you up because there is one near the tower that branches off and brings you to the mt peak trail head instead of the main parking lot. The whole hike with small lunch at the bench took us 2 hours.
