Joanna and Duschka have created an incredible community of learning and support for horse lovers. I love how they involve students in the care of the horses. It's truly a joy to be in the atmosphere there!
We’ve been at Brackenhollow for 4+ years now with my daughter having lessons with Joanna. This is a great environment, some fantastic school horses and ponies, and Joanna’s knowledge and experience is second to none. Absolutely highly recommended.
After trying a couple other stables, I picked this one for my riding lessons. Both teachers here teach riding lessons as their full time career, which gives them a lot of experience teaching. They both explain things clearly, give detailed specific useful feedback, are very attentive to form, and are amazingly knowledgeable about horses. I love riding here.
I LOVE riding here! I'm 26 and I've been taking lessons for more than a year. I have learned so much in such a short period of time. Brackenhollow Stables has exceeded my expectations of a riding barn. Joanna is a terrific instructor and she makes everyone feel at ease around her, no matter their ability and background. The atmosphere at the barn is very friendly and people always say hi to each other. Plus, they keep several school horses so you get the chance to ride different horses. Brackenhollow Stables focuses on eventing so this means I get to learn a little of dressage, stadium jumping and cross country.
I can't praise this place enough! It's like my second home and I have met so many wonderful people there and made so many good memories. I tell everybody I know about this place!
I started riding at Brackenhollow with Duschka in February 2013 when I decided to lease a horse that was boarding there. I grew up in Pony Club, but hadn't really been on a horse in 16 years and was excited to get back into lessons. Duschka was great! She helped me to brush up on skills I'd forgotten, correct old bad habits that I somehow still had (!) and I feel like I'm riding better than ever. I like Brackenhollow so much that I'm willing to drive there twice a week from West Seattle!
