Des Moines Creek Trail Park

Wonderful place. So nice to see all the native plants. Well maintain

Lovely clean paved walk though lush trees, blackberry bushes and a rippling creek. Yes there are some planes that fly overhead and yes there is a water treatment plant about half way, but there are minor diversions from what is otherwise a lovely walk ending at a grassy shoreline.

Awesome little parking lot open 24 hours 7 days. Clean porta potty, nice trail to hike, no "shifty" looking people were around, (besides my son, of course) and an AWESOME close up view of the big jets landing about 1000 feet from us!!! Stayed overnight in my RV on a Saturday night with NO issues until the small parking lot filled up Sunday morning with groups of dog walkers and speed-walkers heading up the trail! No worries, we're just visiting... They live here, right? 5 stars, for sure!

This place is amazing. The trail is relatively flat, tree covered, ambient, and a great place to take a walk or run (or whatever you want to do.) I was really surprised at how clean and well kept the trail was. It led right to the Des Moines marina.

So this was the 1st trail I've walked in this area and the experience was near perfect especially walking with my friend and she made the experience even more special for me, I recommend bringing your family and friends and walk it out to the waterfront and back. Pack water and snacks, Bring, bikes, scooters, skateboards etc... it's really good experience. Please ride with caution due to little kids and elderly who are on this trail. Be safe
