This is a self guided self paced tour and it had all the information you need to learn about the rich history of Snoqualmie and the Falls. You'll learn the pieces and the engineering marvel that was done ahead of its time. It was great to learn and see the moving pieces that generates the electricity for so many areas of Washington. It is a really clean and well maintained place and I highly recommend not skipping this place.
Parking is limited but you can walk to this place from the Snoqualmie Falls viewpoint. It's probably a 15 minute walk with minor descent and ascent. There's probably 5 to 10 spots available at the site itself.
The museum is closed due to the pandemic. The falls viewing locations are open and the views of the falls are wonderful. Parking can be difficult to find, but we were able to park in the free lot and walk across the bridge to the fLls viewing points. Also the trail to the lower falls is a good walk too.
Beautiful falls. Wish you could get closer but the overlooks were beautiful.
My class attended this museum in April 2018 for a field trip. This museum was very interesting and informative. We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. There are two museums on site and both have excellent historical information about the plant. We were also fortunate enough to take a tour 200 feet below the ground. It was certainly an experience I will never forget. I strongly recommend a visit to this museum. Prepare to learn a lot!

1 review of Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Museum "A quick 15-minute and free visit of two buildings - a transplanted maintenance house and a former tiny train depot. The museum describes the power generating features of the falls that are not covered at the Snoqualmie Falls viewing decks. When driving on 69th Place, a street sign said 69th Place was to the left and 69th Street was to the right.
