I'm especially impressed by the promptness and feeling of importance to MBNW to not only build, but to building to last an eternity (2 different projects thus far). Pricing was at the lower end of all the 7 quotes I had gotten done, and their work truly seems to be at the very upper end of quality. I'm impressed.

Mater Builders NW did several projects for me including an entire kitchen overhaul, to smaller projects like adding a door, and pouring a concrete step. After interviewing maybe 13 contractors I chose MBNW because Bill did a great job of communicating and he line itemed things which I loved (being able to take things off I didn't want to spend on or adding things in based on line items). In addition their pricing was great and they stayed true to their projections. Despite some problems from our cabinet company, MBNW was also able to keep our tight timeline. I highly reccomend working with them and was very happy!

We recently bought a townhome that needed to be completely updated. After two handymen attempts to do projects around the house, Bill and his team came in to correct mistakes and complete the work. Bill listened to what we wanted. He walked us through what he could do to fix problems and advised us of the costs. Bill discussed any alternatives and why they would be advised and which would be lower or higher costs. Bill’s bid included costs that were very reasonable and realistic. Since finances were tight, Bill told us what projects he thought we could do to save money. The projects he completed came in at bid prices with one exception. The project that cost more was the one bid that he said was apt to change because we wanted a bid quickly so that our move in timeline would be met. Bill was able to show us where we went slightly over cost and was able to work with the subcontractor on some price adjustments.

The crew showed up on time each day and ended the day by cleaning up the work site. Work was completed on schedule with the exception of one subcontractor. The crew would walk us through what they were going to do and let us know if there were questions about the details. Many of the details we had not considered where brought to our attention so that in the end we got the project we wanted and appreciate the craftsmanship that went into the job.

One of the biggest examples of the crews going above and beyond was the bathroom sinks. The countertop contractor was to come late morning and install the countertops. The crew finished other projects but then waited for the countertops to come so that we would have sinks that night. While they waited they assembled the faucets so that they could finish the job and get done on time. The counters came but they were cut for oval sinks not round sinks. The crew disassembled the faucets and put the sinks back in their boxes without being asked or complaining about the time they had wasted. The sinks were returned for sinks that fit and the crew completed the job the next day. They were all smiling when the sinks were complete and proud of the job they had done.

One of the differences we noticed about Master Builders was that the crew cared about the overall project. Bill spent time researching the details of the projects we completed to save money. The team members are all professionals. They spend their break time talking through processes and how something would affect something else. We have recommended Master Builders to friends, realtors and neighbors. We will call them first when we have another project to complete.
