After years of thought I finally decided to become a PPG pilot. As many of you reading this are looking to do, I had all of the same hesitations and fears I know many potential PPG pilots have. During my training our class had plenty of high moments and a few low moments, the reality is that this is not as easy as throwing a motor on your back and walking into the sky. Thankfully though we had the veteran Tyson and his “instructor in training” daughter Janaya to take us under their wing and guide us through the entire process of how to become a PPG pilot. Tyson and Janaya aren’t doing this to become rich and famous, they are doing it because of their passion for the sport. This is Obvious from day one all the way though to their shared excitement giving out hugs and high fives after watching each of their students they trained for a brief moment become the newest pilot in the world.
If you show up with a good attitude and willingness to put in the work to feel what it’s like to run into the sky then I cannot recommend Tyson and Janaya enough at FunFly’n Paramotors.
I had the unique opportunity to train with Tyson during my initial PPG instruction. I really valued his patience, instruction technique, and his ability to identify your strengths / weaknesses during training. Kiting took me a long time. He took the time needed to help me feel comfortable with my ability to safely fly PPG. In addition to his training, he took a collaborative approach towards helping me find the right equipment. We discussed multiple brands and ultimately decided on the best equipment to meet my needs together. No pressure!
Being that I do not live in WA, Tyson has since been just a call away and helped me multiple times with additional information, flight tips, and maintenance tips. I know I can call today and he will be there to help. Tyson is a great instructor and I would recommend him to family and friends.
Tyson was great to learn from. Truly passionate about this sport and it reflected in his teaching. Also, he tests all the equipment he can. Expect honesty and education when selecting your first paramotor and wing from Tyson. I went through the 9 day course and purchased gear on the last day. Great experience!
I am a new paramotor pilot and due to Washington weather I have not flown for awhile. I contacted this school and was surprised about how reasonable the cost of a refresher course would cost me. The instructor (Tyson) that I spoke to was very friendly and knowlegable and made me feel like a friend rather than a customer. Will definitely be attending this school in the very near future.
