Hiring Sydelle to be our Doula was single-handedly the best decision that we could've made for our birth experience. We connected with Sydelle almost immediately because of her amazing personality, knowledge, and how down to earth she is. She was always available day or night to answer any questions that we had and gave us lots of tools and resources to make sure that we were educated throughout the entire process. Our plan was to have a VBAC, but our little guy had other plans. To put the birth story in a nutshell, almost nothing on our birth plan was able to be adhered to. We ended up having an unplanned C-section and Sydelle made sure that I felt empowered and in control the entire time. She helped calm me down when I was having a hard time accepting what was going on. She reminded me how strong I am, and continually gave me positive reinforcement. Not to mention she came bearing snacks! The photography was breathtaking, and the video of our sons birthday brought us both to tears. Long story short, I would recommend hiring Sydelle to anyone and everyone , because she turned what might have been in traumatic birth experience into a beautiful day, filled with love and happiness.

Hiring Sydelle as our doula was one of the best choices my husband and I made during my pregnancy. Sydelle was there for me through every step in our journey, teaching and supporting me through every twist and turn. From pregnancy all the way to postpartum, she listened to my concerns, made sure my feelings were validated, and helped us make a plan that worked best for our specific situation. And during my induced labor, she went above and beyond being in constant contact through text and calls up until it was time for her to be with us. Her knowledge and tools were key in helping me stay focused, confident, and as comfortable as possible to achieve a successful unmedicated birth.

Additionally, she takes the most beautiful birth photos that capture the moment and raw emotion so wonderfully.

We can't thank Sydelle enough for everything she's done for us and would highly recommend choosing her as the doula for your birth experience. I know we will definitely have her on our birth team again for any future pregnancies!

“You only meet your baby one time for the first time.” That was the mantra Sydelle carried through our first meeting. I’ll never forget that zoom call where her daughters joined us and we chatted about my wants, questions, fears and hopes and her philosophies. And it was in that first call where I got to truly witness how “family is everything” was not something she said, it was lived out every day. I knew right then that I had to have her in the delivery suite with us.
Sydelle was empowering, motivating, supportive, and loving in every conversation we had. As a first time mom who desired a non medicated, minimally invasive birth, I had a lot of doubts and hesitations about the hows and whys to my decision. Sydelle was right there with research backed responses and resources that helped to prepare me and put me at ease going into my birth. She was so gentle and gracious with me any time I contacted her with a question or concern.
Sydelle was extremely easy to get a hold of and extremely quick to reply. On delivery day, she was at my home within 30 minutes of me calling her to let her know it was nearing “go time.” She guided my husband (who didn’t see the need in a doula, but has since changed his tune) through counter-pressure techniques as well as directing and encouraging how/where to support me through different phases of labor. She advocated for me during times I didn’t know how to or that I even needed to. When our son was born we received some unexpected medical news. Sydelle’s empowerment through my pregnancy really changed my view and confidence on how to advocate for my family and moving through to finding out my son’s diagnosis. Although it was scary, I was never alone and had gained so much pride and being a mom because of how she supported me.
Sydelle being a Doula is like peanut butter with jelly, or pineapple on pizza, it just makes sense. I recommend her services above any other service I’ve received in my lifetime. Oh, and the birth photos I received were just sprinkles on whipped cream on cherries on top!

I did NOT want a doula. I didn’t really see the purpose. To me, everything a doula would do, a nurse and Daniel (my husband) could do. Daniel was in complete agreement and felt as if a doula would just get in the way of the medical team and possibly take his role. But, somehow my friend McKenzie convinced me to just interview a few… Over 10 inquiries later cue Sydelle. I read her profile and immediately knew if I was going to have a doula she was the one I wanted. Sydelle is a mom to three, a newer doula, but has experience as a pediatric ICU nurse, and she offered placenta encapsulation- something I was interested in. Discovering she was a nurse was huge for me. I took comfort in the fact that she could acknowledge my way of thinking (nurse brain) and she would have another level of understanding when it came to the medical side of things. We set up a zoom meeting and instantly clicked. By the end I was begging her to be my doula, wheeling and dealing my way onto her calendar and into her heart. Sydelle provided such great support during pregnancy, labor, and into postpartum. After every doctors appointment I had she would check in. I could ask her for advice on anything from medical things to mom things. A few days before I went into labor I started having signs of early labor. I was in close communication with Sydelle via text all the way up till active labor. She was so quick to respond 24/7 during that period of time. We worked together on deciding when it would be best for me to go to the hospital and when Sydelle would meet us. Once at the hospital Sydelle assisted Daniel and I in achieving my goal of an unmedicated birth. (The odds were heavily stacked against me due to my birth location and provider both having high intervention tendencies). She gave Daniel and I tools and interventions to feel empowered. She stayed with me till I was essentially ready to move into my postpartum room. After, in postpartum, Daniel asked me if I would use Sydelle again. We 100% agreed that we will never have a birth without Sydelle, if we can help it, and that I would not have been able to achieve my goal without her. Through this whole process she has met my family and I with true compassion and empathy.

Sydelle was also able to encapsulate my placenta and be my birth photographer. She really offers every service you could want. She visited me at my home after birth and has provided more support then any other person on my birth team. Sydelle is invaluable. So my advice. Just get the doula. And if you’re lucky you’ll get Sydelle

Hiring Sydelle as our doula was the best decision we could have made during this process. This was our first pregnancy/birth and I will 1000000% utilize her for all future births. I had certain expectations for hiring a doula and what we got was so much more than just birth support. She has been an advocate for us from day one, giving us information, knowledge and tools to have a successful pregnancy and birth. Our plan was an all natural birth in a birth center and due to some circumstances our plan was not able to occur but with Sydelle's guidance and help I was able to still have a natural birth through being induced. Without her calm nature and bag of tricks I do not think I could have gone unmedicated. We have so much love and gratitude for all Sydelle has done. You could not ask for a better human being to be by your side supporting you and your partner through this amazing process. We love you Sydelle. ❤️
