Hearthside is a caring facility who goes the extra mile for its residents. My mother receives not only the basic needs of food and shelter but care that is loving and suited to her needs. They often have activities that include families and friends (pre covid). Now they continue with drive by activities. They keep our family well informed on how Mom is doing. They provide Zoom visits twice a week. I highly recommend Hearthside Manor and its wonderful workers! Kathy and Larry Quanbeck
I give Hearthside Manor a FIVE STAR rating! Since my mother moved into Hearthside Manor in March of 2019, they have treated her with kindness, top rate care, and made her feel "at home" as much as possible. I have been able to communicate with all of the staff, all the way to the top administrator. They are receptive to any concerns, and willing to work with me on every issue. I applaud Saporia Williams and Shannon Matson, especially, as they constantly and consistently do their best to make sure my mother is very well cared for. I would recommend this facility to anyone with a loved one who needs memory care, live-in assistance.
Small, cozy, comfortable. A vary “home style” kind of place. Accessible kitchens for snacks, tv viewing room, activities every day. They even have a “man cave” for the men lol. Fire places in living rooms. Loved the black and white family photos throughout the building. The rooms are perfect for a twin bed, a dresser and a chair. I was told that resident rooms are not the focus of people’s lives here. Rather then be alone in a room, everyone is encouraged to come out and join in for social activities. The lawn and building are well kept. Staff was vary friendly. Was looking for a place for my mom. Sadly she passed quite suddenly before I could arrange anything. Still, felt worth it to put in a good review. Other places I went to felt sterile or like a community club with overly large spaces. I really think she would have loved the cozy feeling and she would have appreciated not having to walk down long hallways to get to activities and meals. It’s like walking from your bedroom to the living room at home. I hope you consider checking it out for your family.
It's a FLAG store, and you walk in and pick what you want from the wide selection, you pay tbe nice lady--and you go on your way.
Too many people expect more. It's a FLAG store. It won't change the world. It will supply you with flags--and, yes, I will return.
Great selection of flags!
I can’t say enough good things about Hearthside Manor. Nine months ago, when we could no longer care for my mom in our home, Hearthside truly became her new home.
Because of its size and the small staff-to-resident ratio, Hearthside Manor provides an intimate, homelike setting with generous amounts of individual attention from the caregivers and communication based on a resident’s current needs. When my mother moved in, the staff and caregivers worked together to understand what would make her comfortable in her new surroundings, physically, emotionally, and socially, and input from the family in this process was sought out and valued. When she returned to Hearthside from a recent hospital stay, everyone had to work through that process once again—but they did, and she has settled back in to a little different routine.
There’s no one-size-fits-all agenda at Hearthside—each person is treated with individual consideration and respect. While there is a routine in place which creates order and calm, there is also flexibility for individual needs and tastes. For example, those with dementia often don’t have typical sleeping patterns, and while this can disrupt the average household, it is graciously accommodated in this setting. One of the caregivers often will simply sit on the couch with a wakeful resident after everyone else is in bed and share a cup of hot chocolate and stories until sleep comes. The confusion and emotions that surface from time to time are always met with reassurance and kindness.
Family and friends are encouraged to stop in at any time and are made to feel at home with their loved one and the “family” that is made up of all the residents and staff. There’s always a story to tell—what’s been going on and how the family member has been doing since you were there last—and there’s lots of laughter! It’s so heartwarming to watch the genuinely gentle care from the staff as well as interactions that occur between the residents from time to time. I never walk out the front door without a smile on my face and a grateful heart for the people who make this a wonderful home for my mom!
Hearthside is always clean, the food is good and nourishing and creatively prepared, the grounds and building are well cared for, the facility is safe and secure, the staff are happy and get along well with one another and the residents—it’s a wonderful place!
