We have been utilizing this park for many years for many different activities. Well kept and maintained by our community. They used to host a teddy bear picnic annually pre-C-Vid. Lately we've been playing in the snow here, but otherwise it's a lovely summer park with a lot of apple trees. Please, keep an eye on your little ones. These trees are paid for by donation, work by donation, and in the fall it will be time to harvest the bounty of all that hard work. No breaking branches, as these apples feed lots of people. Wildlife too. Have fun!!
Love this park, quite, nice for short walks. Great apples choices and it's free!
What a nice little discovery. If you want the pick of the crop the best way is to adopt a tree. Full warning if you adopt a tree get ready to have enough apples for a small village. My neighbors and I had several five gallon buckets full and there was still some left on the tree. Great experience!
This is a orchard maintained by volunteers. It is 7.3 acres. Prior to pandemic it held concerts and a cider squeeze free to anyone. I have 2 trees that I maintain a gravenstein and a Macintosh. There are other variety. The 190 trees are adopted each season. The apples are the adopters who prune the trees and maintain the trees. The Curran family planted the trees in the 1950s. The city purchased the orchard and opened it up as a park 1983. It is a great place to visit. There is a play area for children. The park does tours too!
