Very friendly, small congreation, good food and coffee. We are going one or two time more, and will see how much spirtuality the have. Once is not enough....

I'm a member of this congregation, so my review is not objective. Community of Christ is an international Christian peace church, with local congregations in more than 60 countries, and about 10 congregations in the Puget Sound region. It is a prophetic tradition with an emphasis on social justice and genuine, healthy relationships; is not literalistic in it's treatment of scripture; and is non-creedal (no specific beliefs required, though there is a strong culture of building peace in all its manifold aspects). Crystal Springs congregation specifically is a welcoming congregation for diverse people - theologically, politically, gender, race, age, and sexual orientation. The membership in general leans politically progressive, theologically liberal, and is predominantly white, cisgender, English-speaking, adult, and heterosexual, though there is diversity on all those. (In recent years particularly it has been a safe, welcoming, and nurturing congregation for Mormons who have struggled with their church's positions on homosexuality and marriage.) Worship style is typically a variation on mainline Protestant worship - there isn't a "high liturgy" but there is a typical pattern to most services, punctuated by surprisingly good hymns that are insightful, challenging, and forward thinking. The worship is meaningful and usually led by ordained lay (non-professional) ministers. Snacks and fellowship at 9:30, worship at 10 (usually with a parallel offering for youth and children), and then a congregation activity at 11 (sometimes a class, discussion, intergenerational activity, mission/charity/compassion work or potlucks). The people are friendly and open to any questions and visiting. You might consider contacting any of the pastors to see if an upcoming Sunday might be a particularly good theme, worship, speaker, or occasion (potluck!).
