Easy but interesting trail for 4 young adult friends and a dog. Trail was muddy in spots, required sure footing when crossing small streams and climbing over giant logs. We did the hike when rainy. , and it was still manageable. Pretty plants, rivers, and swamps to look at!
This was a lil hike we took while staying at the tree house in Snohomish. We knew the trail was going to have some trees down so we were prepared. There was water we had to walk through to get to where they have closed the trail off at about 1.1 miles in. There were folks that went past that point but we didn’t. This was a beautiful day. The 1st 10-15 minutes is all down hill the rest is pretty flat but very muddy. Good for dogs or cats haha nice not having a lot of people there we only saw a few couples along with us.
Nice little hike. Little challenging going back up. Not much going on at the end as it is closed due to changing environment, slides, and people have gotten killed passed that point. There is a sign.
Went on a hike with all 3 of my kids and my nephew, ages 7,9, 10 and 21. We also had 2 dogs with us (one smaller and one larger), and it was the first hike for one of them. We all loved this hike, especially the waterfalls at the end, but I would not recommend going past the point where it says stop. It's beautiful but dangerous.
Probably not for children younger than 7, as the climb back up will quickly turn into please carry me.
The first section of trail is a switchback with a narrow path, so it can be difficult to navigate when crowded. Also not easy as a hike for a first time pup hike.
Other than that, it was wonderful.
Robe canyon is a great hike to enjoy nature and beautiful surroundings.
While the hike has only 300 feet of elevation, it needs to be noted that it all at the beginning. Near the start of the trailhead the trail drops 300 feet down a series of switchbacks through a forest to the valley below.
After reaching the bottom, the trail will take you through an area of beautiful woods and bogs and bring you to edge of the river.
There are many vistas along the river with great stopping and photo points.
Noted: there are many points with down logs that require climbing over.
The trail becomes more difficult as it reaches the old rail line.
A rock fall prevents hikers from actually reaching the better part of the remaining railroad grade and the tunnels.
The trail is posted as closed at the rock fall.
There are a couple of small waterfalls at that point.
