Helen's Daycare

Bonnie Senter and her immediate family own and operate Helen's Daycare. The daycare has been a family owned and operated business for at least 50 years! The care provided by Bonnie and her family to my son has exceeded expectations beyond all imagination. I could never have imagined that my son would be taken care of in the way he is. Bonnie and her team truly feel like an extension of our family and our work lives would not be possible without their relentless support. Since the moment I walked through her door Bonnie has treated me and my family with kindness and respect. Not only do I think she provides incredible loving care for my son but she is truly one of the best people I have ever met in my life!

Not only does Bonnie provide excellent, loving, and reliable care to our child every single day but she offers so much more. Bonnie is an expert in working with children and understanding their needs on an individual basis. Her home is setup in a way that allows children to learn, grow, and experience through thoughtful play. She is incredibly diligent in the layout of her home daycare and knows how important play can be for cognitive development. She provides children with every experience to enhance their learning through play. She has stations for sensory, arts and crafts, dress up, and more. She is always striving to provide the children with new and exciting experiences for them to interact and engage with in her home.

Outside of all the great things her home can offer, Bonnie is actively involved and on the board of a co-op preschool organization through Edmonds Community College for a group of daycare providers. She dedicates much of her time outside of her daycare business to training, working with a teacher, cleaning and organizing the classroom for the children of the daycare providers who participate in the co-op preschool. The children of Helen's Daycare attend co-op preschool with Bonnie twice a week where their experiences and learning opportunities are expanded. The pre-school is for all ages including babies and our son has gone since he was 8 months old. I can see tangible evidence that my son is learning so many things from Bonnie's home and from pre-school! He is two years old and knows his ABCs, counting, and colors. He also gets lots of emotional support by attending the preschool and interacting with other children and experiencing care by other adults and the teacher.

I can't thank Bonnie enough for the care and support she provides our family. It is truly unmatched! I know she loves the children and treats them like family which is just beyond anything a mother could ask for when having to be away from her son for forty plus hours a week. Bonnie knows their birthdays and loves to give then gifts and goodie bags around the holidays. When we come home at night and we see the love Bonnie has given to them it warms our hearts and we feel truly grateful.
