“Ok I am super picky when it comes to daycare/early childhood education centers. It is difficult to win my approval, not on purpose, it’s just how we are as parents right? We want the best possible care for our little ones and we just want to know that our kids are going to be LOVED and PROTECTED in our absence. We want to KNOW they are getting the attention they all need and deserve and most of all we want to know our little ones are going to FEEL safe and loved while they are there, newly separated from their comfortable momma and/or Papa’s arms, they are terrified and unable to advocate for themselves. That being said this place is now on my top 3 list, there really aren’t enough reviews for this place that tell you anything real, so I wanted to elaborate! We receive DAILY messages with pictures and in depth details of our individual child’s care and how many potty breaks they took or how many accidents they might have had. They even tell us what kind of mood she was in that day, the girls here are so attentive and kind and they really love what they do. I have been WM somewhat of a pain with my schedule recently because I overdid it with my schedule this last quarter and instead of making rude remarks or even saying anything negative at all, they were understanding and accommodating, knowing full well that my intentions were good for being on time and were very considerate of the fact that I am trying really hard to get there by their morning cutoff time. That meant a lot to me, because I feel bad enough as it is coming in late, that they don’t try to rub it in or make you feel worse. My daughter immediately connected with the flgirksbthere and by the second or third week she was already reaching for one of the staff as though she had known her forever. I knew right then she was in good hands. They are so thorough with their education and encouraging our little ones, I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you’re picky like me and feel like you just can’t find anything decent, look no further, I GUARANTEE this place offers everything you are looking for and probably more than you had hoped for. I hope they get more recognition, because what they do is so important and so appreciated! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love and care you give to our baby girl while she is away from home!!!”

“I Love Lake Stevens Little School. My kids have had great experiences there! I have had one daughter graduate and my son went this year. WE love teacher Paulette and her passion for education. Teacher Cindy loves children and it shows. She is always happy and upbeat when I pick up my little darlings. We love teacher Barb. She seems to have endless patience and enthusiasm for listening to their stories. Teacher Linda oozes love. You can't see her with the kids and not notice that she really loves them and has a gentle way with them. It has been our true privilege to attend LSLS and we will come back year after year.”

“We just moved to Lynnwood not too long ago, picked this daycare because it’s closer to our home. It turns out we made the right decision. They have great teachers working here, nice and clean inside. My 3 year old girl cries a lot because she’s not used to her new school yet. Her first language is not English, so she can't explain what she wants at school either. However, all the teachers have been very nice and patient with her. They’ll tell me what happened to her every day, what my girl did well and what I need to keep an eye on when some of the days she is upset. I appreciate all their efforts to take care of my baby girl. This is a job that needs a lot of love and patience. I always believe that teachers are the key element of a good daycare and the teachers here are outstanding!!”

“Bonnie Senter and her immediate family own and operate Helen's Daycare. The daycare has been a family owned and operated business for at least 50 years! The care provided by Bonnie and her family to my son has exceeded expectations beyond all imagination. I could never have imagined that my son would be taken care of in the way he is. Bonnie and her team truly feel like an extension of our family and our work lives would not be possible without their relentless support. Since the moment I walked through her door Bonnie has treated me and my family with kindness and respect. Not only do I think she provides incredible loving care for my son but she is truly one of the best people I have ever met in my life! Not only does Bonnie provide excellent, loving, and reliable care to our child every single day but she offers so much more. Bonnie is an expert in working with children and understanding their needs on an individual basis. Her home is setup in a way that allows children to learn, grow, and experience through thoughtful play. She is incredibly diligent in the layout of her home daycare and knows how important play can be for cognitive development. She provides children with every experience to enhance their learning through play. She has stations for sensory, arts and crafts, dress up, and more. She is always striving to provide the children with new and exciting experiences for them to interact and engage with in her home. Outside of all the great things her home can offer, Bonnie is actively involved and on the board of a co-op preschool organization through Edmonds Community College for a group of daycare providers. She dedicates much of her time outside of her daycare business to training, working with a teacher, cleaning and organizing the classroom for the children of the daycare providers who participate in the co-op preschool. The children of Helen's Daycare attend co-op preschool with Bonnie twice a week where their experiences and learning opportunities are expanded. The pre-school is for all ages including babies and our son has gone since he was 8 months old. I can see tangible evidence that my son is learning so many things from Bonnie's home and from pre-school! He is two years old and knows his ABCs, counting, and colors. He also gets lots of emotional support by attending the preschool and interacting with other children and experiencing care by other adults and the teacher. I can't thank Bonnie enough for the care and support she provides our family. It is truly unmatched! I know she loves the children and treats them like family which is just beyond anything a mother could ask for when having to be away from her son for forty plus hours a week. Bonnie knows their birthdays and loves to give then gifts and goodie bags around the holidays. When we come home at night and we see the love Bonnie has given to them it warms our hearts and we feel truly grateful. Thank-you Bonnie, Bert, Ian, Aly, and Desi for everything you have done for us!”

“We feel very fortunate to have our son be able to attend this school. The staff and teachers all seem very committed to the kids and preparing them for their future. This is a newer school that actually combined 2 schools in the area (as I understand it) so perhaps the low test scores are because the current staff has not had enough time to get all the students on the same page. I have a feeling that some of the negative reviews may have come right after the schools were combined. It may have taken a couple years to get the staff and students and curriculum all straight. My son has only been there for 3 months and his reading skills (kindergarten) and sounding out letters and words are coming so quickly it is astonishing us. They have a morning assembly that I really enjoy attending where the ideals and messages communicated are always ones that I wish I would have in public school. We are not Native American, but are so impressed by the way this school is teaching about Native language and traditions . Good values are universal and understanding other cultures is a valuable asset later in life.”
