“The coffee mill has been apart of harpers ferry for years and the staff is always super friendly! I have been a customer for 15 years! The turtle mocha is amazing, the frozen custard is an all time favorite of my children’s and the fish in chips is an excellent choice for a good hearty meal at the end of a long day! My kids LOVE the chicken tenders! I will keep coming back again and again!”

“Hidden gem. It is a shame this place is hidden on the stairwells, it has such nice products that are unique from all the gift shops selling the same stuff, plus it has many nice things under $10, including a cute pouch my sister got, she also got a thick leather journal with cotton pages for under $30. They had some great looking rustic bags that my sister also fell in love with. Everything is fair trade to help 3rd world countries. Shop is nicely decorated and has really pretty branches hanging from the ceiling which the owner said came from her back and had varnished.”

“Without a doubt the best ice cream in Harper's Ferry. They have a variety of flavors, that rotate. The last time I came here I tried their peach ice cream. Loved it. Their servings are very generous. A single scoop is all I can handle, and would qualify as a double scoop at other places.”

“Contrary to the map location, this is under new ownership and is now Junction Barbecue. The owner cleared out a load of debris in the old red train, expanded the kitchen, and added a deck. He also is active with the chamber of commerce and seeks to improve what is offered in the community. The barbecue was tender and delicious. I liked the chicken BBQ on a baked potato which avoids gluten. Come on in and seat yourself and relax!”

“If you want to find out the history of education progress in the USA then you must visit this small museum. The exhibit is very informative about the foundation of the college that provided education regardless of race or sex. Unfortunately its demise resulted from another advance in education: Brown v Board of Eduction. Additionally at this museum is a short history of the Niagara Movement with some terrific photographs. Included is also info about the founding of the NAACP.”

“This is the drop-off point for shuttle buses coming from the Visitor Center. From here, the historic downtown is only a 5-minute walk. There are no restrooms here. The nearest one is next to the bookstore, one of the first buildings on view as soon as you enter the town.”

“Very cool natural rock formations that look like giant steps. Sweeping views from the WVA side seem like a place from another time. The name for the town here was originally to be called Shenandoah Falls, although the prominence of Robert Harper's Ferry later inspired the official town name. Since the floods swept most of the buildings away that were along the Hall and Virginius Islands, what stands here is a true American village. And yes, btw, for the grammarians visiting this geological wonder, the village name is officially Harpers Ferry sans-apostrophe. Please take your apostrophes with you.”

“All that is physically left of the centuries old cotton mill and water ways are the foundations, but images ad the history can still be found.”
