If you are a Historian efficienado and want to learn more about the history of glass, then The Oglebay Institute Glass Museum is the place to go. It does cost to go experience the tour. It is not overly priced. Very informative, there is a video that you can watch, and you can hear the video throughout the museum as you explore and read the description of the pieces that you are looking at.
I just wish I would've taken more photos than what I did.
Awesome place to visit.
We were surprised that it cost $15..00 to visit the house and museum. There's no discount for seniors or vets. But once we got into the museum we were very pleased with the displays. The light and the color that were reflected was super. The historical information posted on the walls about Wheeling being the glass factory capitol for so many years.
Beautiful glass exhibit. The giftshop has an impressive collection of glassware, Fiestaware, Christmas items.
Beautiful exhibit of locally made glass. Gift shop items were a little pricey, but definitely a worthwhile trip. We went during the Christmas festival of lights and it was very nice. The lodge is beautiful and the price for an overnight stay is very reasonable.
