I have experienced the joy of attending services as a guest periodically over the last 10 years, and was present for a recent Shabbat service led by Rabbi Joshua Lief. The service was shared online with congregants at home. Wee ones played quietly on the main level, while we older folk circled the rabbi.
As soon as I stepped over the threshold of Temple Shalom, I felt a sense of safety, of love, and of spiritual presence.
At Temple Shalom, I can allow myself to experience feelings I usually suppress and don't want to share with anyone else. Even though I'm not Jewish and don't know Hebrew, I feel connected.
There is something so very special about this historic congregation's location and membership, which was formed before West Virginia became a state, that I'm at a loss for words. You just have to experience it beyond the Chocolate Extravaganza.
So sweet the rabbi and his family welcomed us to break the fast on Rosh Hashanah . We were warmly welcomed to attend outdoor services . We were traveling and appreciated the invite . Very small synagogue , lovely group . The cantor's we're highly talented

My Temple home away from home. One of the nicest most inviting and welcoming places on the planet.
Really needed to turn around and kinda late and dark. boom! Temple with a parking lot probably saved me 45 whole seconds
