Moving in during Covid was interesting, but handled professionally. We have enjoyed living here and the staff/maintenance have been great to work with, keeping us informed and quick to respond to repair requests.
My family and I lived at Fairways for 2 years. Our experience living there was quite good. There was one incident that I can recall that was not so good. The incident took place a couple of months after we moved in. One of our bikes was stolen from the parking garage. This was our mishap because we did not lock and secure our personal items. Thankfully, Fairways have security cameras, and we were able to see the thief on-camera riding on our bike out of the garage. We filed a report with the police and that was about it. This goes without saying, but just be sure to keep all your personal belongings secured and locked. Fairways do have notices around the property informing residents that they are not responsible for any stolen or damaged personal items, so I don’t blame them. Unfortunately, thief happens.
Here’s a list of my pros/cons of the property.
Pros:
1. Location: The location is convenient. It’s close to shopping centers, schools, clinics, pharmacies, parks, and more. Also, its right next to the golf course, if you’re into golf, that’s a huge plus.
2. Amenities: They have a list of community amenities on the property (full list on their website). Our favorites were the Book Nook (Reading area), spa/hot tub and the swimming pool.
3. Cleanliness: In my opinion, I thought they did well to keep the property clean, especially being a pet friendly environment. The trash room would get a little nasty, but management was quick to clean it up.
4. Management: The management team was good. They communicated well and were very helpful and nice.
5. Individual Apartments: They come with stainless steel appliances (I like stainless steel). Spacious living/dining area. I have three kids, and even with the apartment being fully furnished, they had room to run around and play. I like that the units look modern.
Cons:
1. Additional Fee: They charge an additional fee to park in the garage. I don’t like that. I feel that should be included with renting the apartment. But their policy, their rules.
2. Fire Alarm: There have been quite a few times when the fire alarm would set off in the wee hours of the night. It started to happen too often to where we weren’t sure if an actual fire was taking place or just another false alarm.
3. Garage Doors/Elevators: These broke quite often, too. This is an inconvenience, but it’s expected due to its daily use by the residents that lives there. Management was always quick to inform residents of the status and upkeep of the garage and elevators.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Fairways. The management team responds to maintenance requests promptly and do the best they can to resolve issues. The residents I’ve encountered are respectful, friendly, and pretty much stay to themselves. If we didn’t have an opportunity to move into our first home, we would have stayed living at Fairways.
I love my place of residence at The Fairways Apartments at Edinburg. I have been living here since February of this year and I am very pleased with the cleanliness of my building and the surrounding areas there. I've also had to call for maintenance a Cory and Team for all you do.
have lived here at fairways for 6 years and I must say that I have had the best experience/service. The office staff's Cody and James are so respectful/ helpful for any thing I've asked for. The maintenance guy is also very professional and helpful when ever I need a work order done its always done in a timely fashion. I will recommend living here to any one I know.
