I took a gamble on Turville Bay Radiation Oncology...and won the jackpot! I have Dupuytren’s Contracture, a benign yet potentially crippling disorder of the connective tissue in the hands. The traditional treatment is surgery, which I’ve already had several years ago. A recent flare-up had me looking for alternatives. With the help of DC support groups and my primary care physician, I opted for radiation. I discovered this is not a common treatment and, after sending letters of inquiry to various radiation oncologists here in Madison, Dr. June Kim of Turville Bay Radiation Oncology welcomed me into the fold. She was willing to go on this adventure with me and worked hard to create the treatment protocol that was right for me. I am a few weeks post-treatment and can tell that the DC progression has been stopped. Each and every staff member at Turville Bay has been very kind and great at their jobs. There is a true concern for their patients’ well-being--physical, mental, and spiritual. I am very happy to have found myself in such good hands!
Everyone I encountered made my 21 treatments so much more pleasant than I could ever have imagined they could be. The staff, doctors, nurses and therapists are phenomenal! I am very thankful for all the wonderful care and kindnesses I received.
Beautiful view of Monona in one of the waiting rooms. Very confident no nonsense doctors.
