Overall great experience working with Al and company at Kool View, with only minor hiccups.
We had a deck that was in serious need of a facelift, so after getting some estimates to redeck everything in composite decking, we also wanted to see the cost of going with a screened-in deck. Kool View’s estimate was only about 33% more expensive than redecking everything. Other screened-in deck estimates I received from competitors were about 10% more expensive than Kool View and their proposals were made from materials that I would need to maintain where Kool View’s materials are no-maintenance aluminum framing.
Tear down of our old deck happened in late fall with construction of the new structure and room starting in winter and wrapping up in early spring. For the most part the entire process was done without much issue. My only real complaint was that when they were cutting the materials, no drop clothes were used to capture any scrap. Since aluminum is not magnetic (making it a pain to clean up via conventional means), we ended up regrading/replacing topsoil of a section of our yard to guarantee no one stepped on any sharp metal as we have young kids that tend to run barefoot around the yard.
After construction was completed, we had some unfinished detail work that Kool View fixed at no additional cost and without complaint. Our final cost went a little over the original estimate because we decided to reduce the number of posts used to hold up the room (AKA use of helical piers instead of diamond piers and engineered lumber on some of the longer runs) as well as upgrade the ceiling to use box car siding rather than aluminum material.
I’ve attached a few pictures of the finished room with a “before” picture for reference. My only other suggestion is that when you use Kool View (as you should) ask to go through their book of projects to see what you like or dislike. They took pictures of our project throughout the process and I wish we would have seen it before making a few of the choices we landed on, but overall, we couldn’t be happier. We use this room practically everyday.
Absolutely the best experience I’ve had with a builder. I love my 4 season room. I cannot say enough good things about Kool View and every employee I had contact with.
I wish I could give them 10 stars!! Steve, a veteran of 30+ years in this trade, masterfully installed tinted security film on 36 windows in my home. His rates were so reasonable and quality of work at a high level. I ended up having many more windows that I forgot to show him in the initial quote mtg and he went above and beyond to finish my project. On top of the that he is a very friendly and a funny guy who plays blues guitar as well. I am a saxophonist and we ended up listening to Buddy Guy during the install and talking about music. I would recommend Steve and Kool View Co to anybody!!
Kool View converted our deck into a screened in porch and we cannot say enough good things about it. It became a space that we now use everyday. Workmanship was terrific. They showed up early, were tidy, and made sure we were completely satisfied. I would definitely recommend this company.
Koolview replaced both front and back doors of the house. I'm very pleased with the installation. The front door is beautifully finished with a 3/4 panel of stained glass. It has totally transformed the front of the house and adds so much light! Very professionally installed and attention paid to detail with matching paint around the seal and door frame. I would highly recommend.
