Prices may be a bit higher than a Woodmans’ store, but you can’t beat a hometown grocery store. Friendly, helpful people at Bill’s! And I can find the hard to find ingredients there! What I may save at other stores, I would have to spend in gas money to get there!
It's not a Sendik's (no carpeted floors) but it's pretty darn close. Much better than the local big box grocery stores. HUGE selection of wines, and also good on beers and liquors. Great choices for cheeses. Produce is good, and love the variety of pickled stuff. Fresh and frozen meats, poultry and seafood also better than average. Just wish the floral was built out a little more. This is our "go to" grocer.
Bills is a local grocery store in Oregon, WI. Overall Bills is a great store to go to for last minute grocery items, or when you just want something and you don’t want to drive 20 minutes to the nearest Target. Why I wouldn’t recommend bills as a regular grocery store is because it is very expensive compared to Walmart or Target. Bills is also not the most up to date store, and you won’t find the latest food trends in there store. But despite the cost, Bills always has great customer service and is a overall a very nicely fun store.
While so many small businesses have been unfortunately negatively impacted by inflation, the pandemic, and other recent monumental problems... it's this reviewer's opinion that our local Bill's grocery has found a way to roll with the punches.
In my opinion (take it or leave it), the store has found a way to keep their store clean and the quality of produce, meats, eggs, dairy, coffee, and alcohol high.
They may not be able to keep prices as low as Woodman's or Walmart obviously...but the quality of their products are at least as good if not better in many cases, and if you pay attention to the ad inserts that can be found just to the right and inside of the store entrance --you can save a bit of money. Shop smart, and you don't need to hit the bigger stores in Madison so often.
Their cheese and wine selection parallels that of a specialty store, and Bill's grocery appears to be an inclusive, tolerant business with friendly staff. While others have eroded under pressure...our local grocery seems to have gotten even better. Up to five stars from four now. Thanks for supporting our Oregon community!
