I just recently became a member of the team at Cedarhurst. Granted we are shortstaffed, but this is changing.
Cedarhurst is under new owners.
I have seen the interaction of many of the caregivers and residents and I have seen nothing but care and compassion from staff for these wonderful residents.
I think people researching senior living / memory care facilities should take a tour, talk to people there and make their own minds up.
My Mother recently celebrated one year at Willow Pointe Memory Care. During this past year the staff at Willow Pointe have had to deal with the challenges of navigating all of the Covid-19 pandemic issues. They have done it with such grace and love. They have had to be the sole care givers for their residents for the past year! As front line workers, we need to give them so many kudos!
My Mom has dementia, she is hard of hearing and has very low vision. Not being able to visit has been challenging. The staff is good about giving me updates and stories about my Mom. During the warmer months we were able to do outdoor visits, but when the weather got colder the staff set up a nice area for us to visit with our loved ones. Staff has been good about understanding my Mom and knowing what she needs! Not an easy job!
Melissa , the Executive Director has always made sure Mom was well cared for and is always there to answer my questions or address any concerns.
I would recommend this facility to anyone.
My Mom has been a resident at Willow Pointe for 2 plus years. She is diabetic and requires her blood sugars to be checked 4x a day. Staff are very good at monitoring her blood sugars and calling the doctor if needed (for low or high blood sugars). The lead nurses, Sue or Missy have taken the lead to report changes in my Mom's blood sugars or overall health to the doctor to request a change in insulin dosage or other medications. Staff have also brought my Mom food or drinks when she was not feeling well and not able to go down to the dining room. I think the staff really care about the residents. My Mom definitely enjoys the staff and feels comfortable and safe at Willow Pointe.
