Richard Bong State Recreation Area rocketry parking

Lots to do in this WI state recreation area. Besides the usual hiking, camping stuff, you can ride dirt bikes and ATVs'. Also high-power rocket launches, RC aircraft, horse back riding and more. Recommended.

R Bong Rec Area is a great place to fly model rockets, serving as a high power launch site for two local clubs.

Still the best kept secret in SE Wisconsin. Camping, rc aircraft, dog training, fishing, hiking, moto cross. Bird watching, Bicycling. I've probably forgotten a half dozen other activities. They are constantly improving this park. Buy a state park sticker and enjoy.

Pretty nice HPR launch site. Usually there's a 9000 ft waiver. The main downside to this launch site is the somewhat bumpy terrain, ponds, creeks, and trees that make for a suboptimal recovery area (but also make it quite a nice place to hike around on the trails). Bring towels, spare socks, and waterproof boots.
