***Long review***
The 2.3 review rate brought me to speak out and can't really understand it. I have been to this ER a dozen times over the years for my auto immune disease and they have always been friendly and helpful. From the front desk, patient info nurse, ER room nurse, and doctors I have only ever had 1 doctor not be empathetic to my needs [out of literally a dozen times].
The wait can be 30-90m for non-critical patients but I have also been to Ascension [at the time it was the St title] and they had waits of over 2 hours. At some hospitals in Illinois I have had to wait over 3 hours. (I have also been a critical patient and they brought me in with no wait at all and gave me everything I needed)
I find it hard to see the problem with social distancing for covid, they have always had masks provided at the door, on employees, spaced out chairs (which I have NEVER seen fully filled), and hand sanitizer in several locations of the waiting room.
I think this rating is the classic 'The service wasnt bad and I didnt know it had a rating?' combined with 'this service was so bad this one time I NEED to review it terribly and never return for a follwup review'. It isn't a bad ER by any standard. (Quickly gonna toss some shade on other reviews: if you could drive to the ER, complain, then drive yourself to another ER then it mostly likely isn't an ER you should go to but an urgent care center.)
This is LITERALLY the BEST Hospital! I busted my leg recently and went to the Emergency room, the check-in process was so fast! I didn’t even get a chance to wait before a nurse took me to the back and took care of me! More nurses came in the room and cleaned the wound & then a doctor came in really fast and stitched me up. I absolutely loved the doctor! He made me feel really comfortable, walked me thru every step, and most of all did an amazing job. I appreciate everything they did for me & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them!
