Oh my gosh, this place is indescribably wonderful for niche seekers. The owners, Terry and Denise are incredibly down to earth, and dedicated to making fantastic cheese. You just don't find cheese like theirs at any store. One of my favorites is the Roundhouse, a soft camembert-ish type, YUMMY!! The drive is also just lovely. Don't forget to say hay :) to the cows.
Stopped here last Sunday on my way home to St Louis, so glad I did. Had a delightful time with the two charming owners, very interesting people who have a love for what they do. My wife said the cheese rivals anything she's had in France, great product great people, don't miss this experience if you're nearby.
The people there are really nice. The cheese is phenomenally good! I would recommend going there for any of your specialty cheese tastes
This was a fun thing to do during a colder day at the lake. The owners take a very simple approach to cheese making, and they walk you through the whole process. There are samples and I recommend purchasing a block of fresh cheese before you leave.
The people there are really friendly. We chatted for a while with them. They have samples of each cheese out for tasting. They were all pretty good. I went for the aged stuff.
They also had some items from other local places for sale. I bought some crackers and apple butter. I haven't gotten home yet to taste them, but they looked good.
You can go out to the barn to see where they milk the cows. By the time we got done chatting and shopping they seemed to be done milking, so we didn't get to see it, but we could see the cows off in the field.
Overall it was a nice little side trip on our way back home. ????

The only cheesemakers in the Lake Geneva, Wisconsin area - we handmake farmstead artisan cheese from the milk of our small herd of grass-fed Jersey cows. We sell our cheese in our on-farm Cheese Shop Saturdays and Sundays, from Memorial Day Weekend through the end of December. Please note, this is a working farm not a petting zoo.

That was the start of Highfield Farm Creamery, where the couple now runs the state's smallest milking parlor and sells handcrafted curds and cave-aged cheeses. From summer to winter cheddars and washed-rind varieties, we definitely think Highfield Farm Creamery should be on your to-try list.

Highfield Farm Creamery is the only farmstead artisan cheesemaker in the Geneva Lakes area. They handcraft cheese from the milk of their small herd of cows. Their Jersey cows are grass-fed and help them produce cave-aged and fresh cheese at their Creamery "on the quiet side of the lake."
