Engines Service Inc

I found out about Engines Service Inc about 6 or 7 years ago when my friends' boat's Kohler generator stopped working. I showed photos of the generator and gave the model/serial numbers, talked with Phil and he let me photograph pages from the service manual, so I could do some testing. WHO WOULD DO THAT???????

I did the tests and it was determined that the voltage regulator was bad. I removed it and brought it to their shop and he knew EXACTLY what it was- even has a test jig for it. Within a few hours, he called with the price for a replacement and after the boat owner found out, it was ordered. The generator was removed from the boat & brought to their shop, it was installed and the final checkout was done at the boat, by Phil. He then offered instructions on operation and making sure it would last many more years (DO NOT start the generator with the loads connected, or add the loads immediately after starting the engine).

I'm tired of hearing "I don't know....", experiencing rudeness and getting bad information from people who are supposed to know what they're doing.

My experience is how service businesses should be operated and being in a service business myself, I think I have a valid opinion.

100% Bonafide old school small engine shop. Very unassuming from outward appearances of the building. One stop parts/repair shop for older Kohler, Briggs, Wisconsin, Onan, and others. The first time I visited; I was able to walk in needing gaskets for my nearly 60yr old Wisconsin, and came out shortly after with NOS parts in hand with the quick and knowledgeable help from Phil. Ive been back many other times for other vintage Wisconsin, Briggs, and Kohler OEM parts, and they have had everything in stock every time. Amazing…. Rick and Phil are so helpful and welcoming that I find excuses to stop in for parts whenever I can. Cant say enough good about this shop.

This place is awesome. I was experiencing trouble with my RV generator. I have worked on engines my entire life but my Onan generator had me baffled. I spoke with Phil on the phone and quickly realized that I needed their help. He fixed my generator while I waited, showed me a few tricks and also tweaked the performance under load. I'm relieved to know that I have a great place to go if I have any future needs. Thank you Phil for a job well done!

Phil identified the problem with my RV generator in about 5 minutes, and brought me out to show me the issue and explain the fix. These guys know everything about engines down to the chemistry. Very reasonable prices too. You're wasting your time and money going to hardware or RV stores instead of making this your first stop.

I needed to replace my old Onan Generator in my truck. So, I looked around in the area for Onan dealers, and first went to the one in Oak Creek and I did not like how they handled my request. So, I searched for another one in Milwaukee area and found Engines Service.

The generator in my truck had lots of complication (like not having enough space for large generator, fuel line not up to the code, issues with ventilation for generator...and more); However, Phil at Engines Service Inc went out of his way to get me the new generator and install it as per Code, and addressed all of my issues. The personal attention I got here is really hard to find and I am really impressed with the workmanship. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for any kind of generator services.
