The Fields of Waterford

I have lived here a year and I love it here. The people that reside here are good people. We watch over each other and care for each other if need be. Before this virus we tried to get together once a month to celebrate birthdays, holidays or just being alive and well. We also met every Tues. morning to just sit and chat about our week, our families, the news, etc. The gathering room is truly that. A place to gather and work jigsaw puzzles, play cards, have a pizza party or just meet and greet. Come join us.

At the end of the second world war, I was a teenager and because of the shortage of housing ,because of all the soldiers returning, our family had to move in with neighbors. My father and I stayed in a 3rd floor attic of one neighbor, my mother with another and my sister with a third neighbor. This continued for almost a year. At that time I made myself a promise that this would never happen to me or my family again. So we have owned our homes for over 60 Years. And have upgraded several times until we felt We had the perfect HOME for retirement, and the remaining years of our lives. It was simple, when I died, I would be living there.
Then my wife became quite disabled, then I became somewhat disabled.Our perfect house became way to big, our 6+ acre lot was to large to maintain, etc, etc, etc. But to sell my perfect house? NO WAY
Finally I had to make the inevitably decision to move, but my heart was not in it. We have a large family and everyone helped a lot. After moving I could not find anything, it was either given away or placed somewhere I could not find it. It was a total nightmare.
It is now 6 Months later, and at our age , The fields of Waterford is an excellent place to live. I am really enjoying life here. Everyone is friendly, it is quiet and peaceful. We have been fortunate enough to have shared a meal with 2 different couples and have become good friends with them .
Dan and I are presently working to develop our new Garden Club with raised beds.( No Bending) Come join us, we need more help watering.

My parents moved into the Fields of Waterford last summer. They had owned their own home for over 60 years but it was becoming to much to take care of; so they decided to sell and go somewhere they didn't have all the maintenance and yardwork but could still enjoy the country life style they were used to.
They found The Fields of Waterford and fell in Love with it. They are enjoying a spacious 2 bedroom unit with 2 bathrooms and their own laundry. They have a lot of windows to do their bird watching, and a nice patio with a view to the pond and wildlife.
They are on the first floor and the parking garage is just down the hall from their apartment with no fears for safety or falling due to bad weather.
Everything is handicap accessible which is great for my mom who has to use a scooter or walker to get around.
There is also a huge gathering room to use if you have a large family like we have, with a kitchen for cooking, tables, couches and TV's and a outside patio.
My parents are looking forward to putting together a community raised garden this summer for everyone to enjoy!
The Fields of Waterford is ideally located for all of our family to visit.
I was afraid my parents would miss having their own home, but they are truly enjoying their new life and meeting new friends in there new community.
