took my sweet baby luna here last night because she was declining very rapidly from an upper respiratory infection, we brought her in around 10 pm and she was seen very fast and i was able to pick her up at 12:30 am. the entire staff were so kind and walked me through everything i needed to know. luna is doing so much better and she’s finally eating and slowly getting back to her normal self just after 7 hours of being discharged! thank you to the entire staff! you guys are angels!
I had to take a 7 month old work kitty (now my inside only kitty) here after she played in a puddle of gasoline leaking from a vehicle. The staff was AMAZING, and the vet was very knowledgeable caring in treating her. I would definitely go back for any future emergencies.
I had to come in from Rockford with my small dog when another dog had attacked her, as our local e-vet was at capacity. I was worried sick about my buddy, but Patricia answered my questions on the phone calmly and kindly, and met us with the same demeanor at the door. She helped me feel more balanced about my bleeding dog as she asked a few questions at intake.
There was not a terribly long wait to get her back - a matter of a few hours. I also met Sarah, another employee of VCA, upon pickup, and she was just as helpful and friendly, with concise directions about aftercare, making sure I understood what to do with all the meds and compresses and and and... whew.
The veterinarian, Dr. Hawley, gave me a clear update on the phone and helped me not panic as well before I came back in to pick my dog up.
They were also honest about not running a blood panel (since I had told them I'd just had one done on my dog 2 weeks prior, with everything in the clear, though I specified that if necessary, I would be okay with it), and I received a bit of a refund on my deposit because of this.
I know the people who do these jobs see both pets and people at their worst. It's so difficult to encounter people who feel like they are the perfect fit for a high-stress environment like this. That is why I am so appreciative of all three of the people I spoke to for my visit to VCA. Thank you for taking care of Triscuit.
Our Husky started getting sick over Easter weekend, and by Monday, it went downhill after trying to get in to our regular vet, but we did not hear back from them all day. We had no choice but to go to the ER and fortunately the experience with the staff was great. They rushed her back the right way. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to save her. However, they let us say our final goodbye for as long as we needed before we had to let her go. They were very helpful, patient, and understanding. They understood the urgency of the situation and understood it was a difficult decision for us. They treated her with such care and helped us understand what was happening.
One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do was say goodbye to my Peanut man but the nurses and doctors at the VCA were beyond incredible and so kind. As I hyperventilated on the floor a nurse brought me water, an applesauce, and a packet of sugar to ensure I would be okay. They were nothing but gentle to my boy in his final moments, and albeit I wish he was still here; they made his final moments peaceful and made darn sure that he was surrounded by me and my family with love. A million thanks doesn’t cover the gratitude in which I feel. I cannot wait to pick up my boy from the VCA and bring his ashes home and thank them in person for all they did for this family.
