This is a good-sized SNA with several access points. For the 2.2-mile loop trail, the best parking and trail access are at the end of Buckfever Dr off of Schara Rd. The parking area has room for many vehicles although Buckfever is mostly 1-vehicle wide for 2-way traffic. The out&back trail with stream crossings is accessed from Reich Dr with very limited side-of-road parking. For GPS owners, a POI file for all WI SNAs parking areas can be downloaded free from the POI Factory.
A nice hidden gem, you drive along a gravel road to a small parking area. The trail is nice but it is a bit overgrown at points, otherwise a nice short hike
Colorful hike or walk in the fall. Walk from lower lot. Hike the hills clockwise from top lot. Cobble hike. Plenty of owls hooting in this hollow. Rock formations, don’t recommend climbing.
The hike through the lower part of the draw was just enough to be challenging to us, who are a little older and maybe not so athletic. The water was beautiful...crisp and cold. We had perfect Fall weather. And we met very nice people along the trail.
My lifelong friend and I hiked here on Saturday January 5 . The weather was perfect for a vigorous hike! The trails were well maintained and marked pretty good. There was one spot on the trail that we were a little bit confused about but we figured it out. There's rock formations and caves that you can get to easily. I will definitely be exploring again this summer !
