We were able to find examples, often from Renee’s website and social media, which helped us to explain our vision. Renee was always aligned with us, and was able to guide us to arrangements that were more beautiful and complementary than we had imagined. One thing which really impressed me about Renee was the progress we made in our complementary consultation. We covered bridesmaids, groomsmen, distinguished family members, table settings, a mantle piece, and other characteristics which helped to fill our day with so much natural beauty. The barista was friendly and funny, the coffee was spot on, and they even had bakery items and donuts from a LOCAL bakery. (not the usual Starbucks corporate factory garbage). “I have visited the Abbey in the past. On previous visits there were not as many rambunctious children or drunk adults. Although this doesn't affect my rating, I feel it must be mentioned in the fact that if they are going to be hosting multiple marriage retreats, maybe it's best they don't host family reunions or birthday events in the same or very close proximity. And if it can't be avoided, perhaps separate the families from the couples that are looking for a quiet weekend get away. The halls and rooms work quite noisy both nights we stayed. Every single employee greeted us with a smile and some warm gesture of sincerity. Their customer service is top notch. We were very pleased with the bonfire, and other activities that were included with our stay. We, however, will probably not consider staying on the weekend with our children in the future because most children's activities or events only take place during the week day. We dined at both the Waterfront Restaurant and 240 West. You can find our review under their businesses as well.”

“My husband and I arrived at the Abbey early Friday afternoon. We visited the Waterfront Restaurant for their (all you can eat) Friday night fish fry, and we loved it! It comes with Cod or Walleye, fried or broiled. It also comes with potato pancake, regular fries, or sweet potato fries. As well as coleslaw and hush puppies. Everything named above was all you can eat. And you can change your selection at each plate. It came out fresh from the fryer and was quite delicious. The view was beautiful, and the service was prompt.”

“240 West was delicious for both Saturday night prime rib & crab leg buffet, as well as the Sunday morning brunch. It would be nice if brunch started earlier than 9am. We had a wonderful dinner and a great server, Yessica. She was on top of our table of 8. Quick to clear our used plates, and to fill our drinks. We came in the next morning as a party of 6, and 4 of us enjoyed the brunch buffet. 2 of our party had to wait almost 40 minutes for breakfast ordered directly from the kitchen, which was only eggs & sausage. Their meal was comped. Brenda, our server was quick to refill our coffee, mimosas, and water. We will most certainly visit again when we return to the Abbey.”
