“My two sons have been training at World Martial Arts Academy for nearly two years. I chose this academy because it is headed by a grandmaster (sixth level black belt), while most schools have less experienced and less qualified instructors. The grandmaster personally oversees the instructors as they teach, and students usually are in groups of two to four per instructor. This assures close attention to every aspect of the training, and because instructors are observed by both the grandmaster and the head instructor, and because instructors are trained each day, the quality of the teaching is high. We left a previous larger taekwondo center because a teacher often had 15-20 students, and I found my sons were being offered a chance to test for higher belts when they were clearly not doing well. This, in my view, was to assure that they completed the training contract as quickly as possible. If they did not complete, the training was to continue for free after the contract ended. I noticed that some of the students with black belts were barely able to complete simply actions. That. to me, was unacceptable. The Grandmaster has been teaching for more than 25 years and began his training in South Korea. He is really outstanding and I feel fortunate to have found an academy that offers high quality training.”
