“This is by far the best food I've found in Wisconsin. Egg pie is now my favorite pie and I'd never heard of it before. The chicken has full flavor like I never thought possible. Rib tips were delicious, but was a smaller portion than expected, however the prices here are so low that makes sense. I've stopped ordering food from anywhere else unless this place is closed. Which is my one complaint, the hours are extremely limited. I'd order here a lot more often if they were open more. I think it's just the owner running it by himself with no help.”

While all Chinese restaurants have some good food, those with normal dine-in service (versus the mega-buffets and carryout only joints) tend to be of a higher quality, and Golden Gate is no exception to the rule. “A rainy and damp April night, almost closing time! We pull in and ask if they are still open. They were actually cleaning but said they had no problem feeding us, lol! The group there was very professional. I don't know their names, but they were polite and respectful. They were disinfecting bandits! They were disinfecting everything in the building before we left. As they say, cleanliness is next to godliness! I let them know that before we left. I ordered a double cheeseburger with everything and a small fry, my wife just wanted her grilled cheese and lemonade. It was all done to perfection, the facility was spotless, the bathrooms were spotless! And like I always say, clean bathroom clean prep area. Dirty bathroom, don't eat there! I have to say this visit was refreshing considering the lack of respect shown to one's fellow man nowadays! The staff is definitely worth an above average tip! And, that's exactly what we did.”

And speaking of diamond, Selena who usually mixes the drinks, it was her last day today ☹️ Very astute young lady and a great conversationalist besides being a skilled Mixologist. My Wife really enjoyed her creations. That being said, my Chicken Parmesan was wonderful, the Calamari was delicious and not overly breaded or greasy. The Marinara sauce along with the tartar sauce was fantastic. My wife's Shrimp Scampi was very good, it's a different take on the Scampi, not full of bread crumbs and greasy butter. Much healthier and delicious. The Hard Lemonade that Selena made my wife, was really one of the better drinks she said that she's had. I would recommend anyone stopping for lunch or dinner, and the prices were more than competitive. Also, the bathrooms were spotless, and that always relates to the rest of the facility.”

“I stopped in with my sister at high noon, the place couldn't be busier. We were seated within minutes and waited on promptly. I got a "hot" sub but my turkey was barely warm. The bread is so soft and FRESH! I had a side choice with my sandwich, my sister did not. I got pasta salad and it was EXCELLENT, I would stop for takeout on this item alone! My sister's sandwich came with a half a handful of potato chips. I feel like for the price of these subs a side should be offered for all, my sister added on a pasta salad. The sodas come in plastic bottles with a cup of ice if you choose to use it. Our waitress Laura was very friendly and attentive. There is street parking if you're lucky enough to get it and ample parking around the corner. The street is very busy so be careful, this is right off the highway.”

“The pizza here is fantastic. I was skeptical, but finishing the pizza in your own oven is the way to go. That being said, this pizza was massive. They load their pizza with toppings. No joke, it was beautiful. Got one thin crust (which was great), and one of the "thick" crust. Had to freeze the thick one because the small thin one was plenty enough for two of us. This time I was so hungry I got a sandwich too, which isn't too bad but I think they are a little on the pricey side. Good thing they fall into the coupon for 2 or more $6.99 each. I have found that calling ahead of time to order food for dine in works better and the wait is less then waiting to order when we arrive.
