“I love this lil library. It’s intimate and I feel right at home when I visit. They built a new library in Montgomery but I prefer this library over the new one. I’m just upset that since they build a new library, the hours at Mary Jacobs has now been reduced to only 4 hours in a day. That really doesn’t serve us especially when you need to study all day long and you need a quiet place like Mary Jacobs to do it in. This also does not encourage people to go to Mary Jacobs first. Most people like to get out early in the morning, and when this library opens at 2 PM and closes at 6 PM – – it doesn’t serve the community. I don’t know whose idea this was to slash the hours, but they need to have the library open from 10 AM to 8 PM daily—like it used to be.”

“It's not the biggest library, but that's why I like it: Easier to find my kids. Lots of books and other media to check out, like movies, music and video games. They always have activities planned throughout the month for all ages. There are meeting rooms and study rooms you can reserve. There's always crafts and little activities to do any time I go. Each has its own personality, both inside and out, and it is always a little thrill to pop them open and see what wild mix of giveaways awaits me! This one could use better identification on the road facing side but otherwise has decent visibility. The proximity of the park and play grounds and several nearby schools only increases its value.”

“Small but has a good book collection. The librarians are very helpful and friendly. If you can't find the book you're looking for you can go up and ask for them to order it. They said they don't do late fees, so if you do return a book late you won't have to pay for it. The bathroom was really nice and clean and I love the little child's area for my baby cousin (3). They have fun events too. My only problem is that unless you know that the building is the library there is no sign saying "hey this is the library". It's just a gray building.”
