“Went with dear friends here for their charming New Year's We've celebration this year! It was fun and different for me and I really enjoyed how people were friendly and inclusive. We danced and danced, both before and after dinner. They had a delicious selection of appetizers upon entry out in the main gathering area, a no-host bar and complimentary water beverages. People could mingle and snack before the doors opened to the actual, lovely dining area. Inside that area there was a stage, a DJ and great entertainment. Kid and family friendly celebration! Dinner was a serve yourself buffet with classic Persian offerings. I loved it! Yum 👍 I will note though, if one wanted an alcoholic beverages for that magical midnight hour toast, you'd need to go out to the no-host bar and purchase whatever you wished to toast with... No complimentary bottles of the bubbly provided 🤔 There was no downside, security was evident, parking was ready and safe and it was a fun evening and warm way to usher in 2020!”

“I have experienced the joy of attending services as a guest periodically over the last 10 years, and was present for a recent Shabbat service led by Rabbi Joshua Lief. The service was shared online with congregants at home. Wee ones played quietly on the main level, while we older folk circled the rabbi. As soon as I stepped over the threshold of Temple Shalom, I felt a sense of safety, of love, and of spiritual presence. At Temple Shalom, I can allow myself to experience feelings I usually suppress and don't want to share with anyone else. Even though I'm not Jewish and don't know Hebrew, I feel connected. There is something so very special about this historic congregation's location and membership, which was formed before West Virginia became a state, that I'm at a loss for words. You just have to experience it beyond the Chocolate Extravaganza.”

“Rabbi Matt Cutler is amazing and he provides an uplifting, thought- provoking and educational message. The Cantor has an incredible voice and it is great to listen to. Actually, everyone who participates in the service seems to do it with their full heart. The interior of the building is very beautiful and conducive to spiritual growth. I love to accompany my friends/family who worship there.”

“Temple Beth El is the best. I was looking for a Reform Temple that was small, (not overwhelming) accepting, the members didn’t take themselves too seriously, but still maintained the appropriate reverence why were are there. When i walked in, I could see it was checking all my boxes. I immediately felt I was home. Friday night services lots of singing and dancing, and Saturday is more traditional. Either one is great. If you’re looking, definitely worth checking out.”

“As a member of TBS for the past 33 years, it's still my spiritual home. Love the E-mail communication -- many thanks. In my early days, mailings were a hands on operation with us volunteers spending many a day helping the Temple office out . Happy memories and many friendships were made. With Rabbi Werbow's leadership, TBS has become a much warmer and loving Spiritual home than ever before.”

“My fiancee and I recently became members; this is my perspective. If you're a young professional in the Sac area there is no synagogue that is more vibrant than this one. We have events for young professionals (hosted by the MLC2030 committee) several times a month. If you join us you will feel welcomed. This is a very active synagogue. The sanctuary is beautiful and it's also glued to Shalom School, the Jewish primary school, so the location is perfect. When it comes to sustainability they also take the cake, especially when it comes to waste-reduction. The only downside is that during services they usually do not announce the page numbers, so unless you have everything memorized you will get lost sometimes.”
