“Park right inside the city of Youngstown, Ohio. Beautiful, stunning, bring your cameras, exercise gear, and water bottle. This park has miles of walking trails. Some of the area is smooth the area I was on was rocky. So, might not be best for wheelchairs or baby strollers. Enjoyed my time, would don it again.”

“Beautiful. I wish I had known about the memorial sooner. It seems like the city did a wonderful job on it but I haven't ever heard of it.”

“It's hard to imagine thick forests and streams up there when everything at the bottom of the mountains is desert, but it's true. Rode the tram (a wonderful experience in it's own right) to the trailhead, then took the north part of Round Vally Loop to Wellman Divide Trail, headed for Mt San Jacinto. The trail is fairly easy to follow, although large sections of it are rocky. The outbound ascent is fairly steady, nothing terrible. Do remember that you start at 8,400.' If you're not acclimated, this one will be tougher than normal. There are also a number of places where last winters huge snow pack, and subsequent melting, caused wash-outs and scouring. I came to a few spots where the trail seemed to disappear because it simply went over rocky sections. Within 15-20 yards of each of those places, the trail became obvious again. I crossed several stream beds, some of which were still flowing the last week in September, 2023. I did not need my poles for this trail, but was glad I wore boots. I encountered about 20 people (all of whom were pleasant) on this trail, making for a pretty quiet, peaceful experience. I will be back to explore more trails. *****Things to be aware of. It begins getting dark well before normal sunset because you are in a valley. Having a headlamp and/or flashlight is a good idea. A headlamp is best because it leaves your hands free; a good idea on this trail with all the rocky sections. It is much cooler up there than on the valley floor. It was in the 80s on the floor, but 60° at the top of the tram ride. It got even cooler as the day wore on and darkness approached. Finally, you are required to have a free day permit, which you can pick up at the ranger station at the beginning of the trail.”

“Very small place yet fun with loose river rocks all over the place in a good portion of the park. Head to the beginner, intermediate, or intermediate/expert tracks for some dirt bike fun! The intermediate/expert track is where we ended up spending most of our time.”

“Lovely place to camp! Very rural, no cell service but absolutely gorgeous. Perfect place to relax, picnic, ride dirt bikes, bicycling, fishing and connecting with nature. There is a burger place and a general store with lots of friendly people. Price to camp at Troy meadows is $18.50 a night or $8.50 with seniors pass, you need to place fees in a fee drop- this camp ground is a first come first serve, no reservations.”

“A very good ballpark. Lots of space kids to play ball. Well kept and managed. Located where there's not a crowd such as in the town area. An all-round good recommend for people to come and watch the games in the seasons they're held. Hartford City does a fairly good job on the upkeep of the parks and ball fields such as this one.”

“Camping sites were level, spacious and well-maintained. Bathrooms were clean, well stocked with soap, clearly well taken care of. Dog park was a really nice off-leash area that was clean & mowed. Nice walking areas including a pond. Security was, of course, stellar!”

“Nice park with scenic views of the lake. The park is one of the least light polluted parks around DFW, so I expect night skies to be just gorgeous. Will have to come back when its not cloudy. The lake was a bit dirty for swimming I feel. No beach area. Good boat ramp. Restrooms are waterless, and were not in good shape when we went. Basically emergency restroom. The campsites around have running water but no electricity. Camp sites have bbq grill, tables, and fire rings. July 2020 update. They added a very nice fishing pier!”

“We were looking for a place that we could bbq, but it was getting ready to rain. And we needed a place with a covered pavilion. Not much scenery but it has a train track that is elevated and we saw a few trains go by.”

“Fantastic views, but prepare for crowds. We hiked the trail to Balanced Rock, Devils Doorway, and Pothole trail. Wonderful views but a difficult hike for many people. The beach areas were well maintained and the lake of gorgeous. We arrived about noon on a Friday and several parking lots were full. I can't imagine what it would be like on a Saturday. The bathrooms at the beach area were acceptable, but needed cleaning. This park is definitely worth a visit, but I would avoid the weekends.”

“I visit the War Memorial to use their gym. It is large, well equipped, and affordable. I considered not making a review to keep this place a secret. The surrounding park has ball fields, playgrounds, and walking paths. On weekends, there are usually food trucks serving the people who come for baseball games.”

“No sewer hookups. Stickers (goat heads or sand burs) everywhere!! Playground has swings, a slide and monkey bars and is in sand.. 2 shower houses that are clean but flood the entire bathroom floor, no ventilation. Paved roads throughout. Great sandy beaches for swimming but they are hard to get to. Beautiful views. Very quiet. Good fishing”

“I've been to this park several times over the years I've lived here. For just a fun afternoon and events like preschoolers graduation. There's quite a bit of shade around the playground. It's always clean even the bathrooms. Yes for us moms of Littles that is one of the most important details. 2 baseball diamonds and a disc golf course in the wooded area near by. Definitely a park I'd recommend everytime”
