“I came here about a month ago during a picture scavenger hunt and had a super fun time. We talked to one police officer for about 40 minutes just about to what he does and he was very kind and even let us sit in his patrol car thing. The car was super cool and high tech and I didn’t know cop cars had so much fancy stuff in them but now I know. I would have never thought to just talk to a police officer because they seem kind of scary but it was really interesting and i would recommend to everyone. So officer Olsen, if you’re reading this, thanks for a great experience.”

“Today I was pulled over by State Trooper Wagner on route 30 in Greensburg. As an African American man I was nervous and almost came to tears for fear that I, as an unarmed black man would be shot and killed by a white officer. The exact opposite happened. Trooper Wagner let me know that I was speeding, ran my plates and drivers license just as he is supposed to do. He was very respectful, polite, and above all he treated me like a man. I was so overwhelmed by his integrity and professionalism toward me that I was almost brought to tears. In this age of divisiveness, Trooper Wagner has made me feel that not all white officers are bad, and not all officers want to do harm to black men. I thanked him for the respect he has given me. Cudos to State Trooper Wagner and all officers just like him. If only I could clone him and give him to the rest of the country.”

“I just wanted to say Thank you to the Millersville police officer who responded to a call on November 24, 2015. He was extremely knowledgeable on domestic abuse, kind and gentle. My X had attacked me and I had wounded her trying to protect myself. She had called the police to finish retrieving her belongings because I had managed to get her locked out of the house. I was terrified to open the door when the officer arrived, because of that crazy law that both go to jail in domestic violence cases. When I finally let him in and he saw me the first thing he said was “what did she do to you?” I explained that she pinned me on the couch until I couldn’t breathe, which explained the blood in the middle of my tank top, considering I had clawed her profusely on the top of her arms. He then proceeded to ask the proper questions which explained the blood on my clothes, because I was not bleeding. He arrested her and helped me try to locate my phone and tablet, which she had stolen and put in her car. I’m sorry that I can’t remember your name, but I hope you remember me. He was a tall older man that said he trains other officers on domestic violence. I’ve never seen her again, besides court, and I’m safe in another state. Thank you for everything and be safe out there!”

“At times, I like to share what I learn. This post is a must, especially now in the midst of COVID crisis. I learned for years--humble, committed, fair, and reliable citizens of San D. county's communities have been giving their all --as Senior Patrol Volunteers. I learned each of the sheriff, many police and most CHP subdivisions have their own dedicated volunteers. But, they share the same deep commonality: Each of these people has made our neighborhoods safer and our quality of life better. Each of these senior volunteers individually and as a team give each week--a daytime schedule they have personally chosen. Each of them manage a wide variety of interesting and reasonable duties and tasks--out of wanting the best for others, and ultimately, to do the right thing. COVID is the reason they have been temporarily shut down. May the senior volunteers at the local PD and at the sheriff dept. continue to be healthy and strong through this crisis. Each of these people in their silent way have been stepping up and giving----long before COVID. Not everyone at 50 and older--is able to do what these volunteers tirelessly do. In a few or several months, North, East, West, and South County will have volunteers back on the streets. Possibly, more people will notice these truly amazing groups of dedicated people at all corners of our large county. They each make an enormous difference in their own individual way. They saw the opportunity to do so and make it part of their active weekly life.”

I am going out of town tomorrow and had a part that was delivered two days ago go missing out of my mail box so I overnighted another one and it showed up this morning. I got home from work ready to fix my atv and the package was missing again. I checked my cameras and was able to see the person responsible so I called the sheriffs and they were able to get my packages back. If it wasn’t for them I would have had to tell my 8 year old that was packed and waiting to go that our trip was canceled. You guys saved our little vacation. Thank you so much”

Only took 10 minutes for an officer to show up and clear out some offenders I reported, most of that time was probably the office dispatching from the department down the way. Thank you.”
