“Great vet in West Bloomington area. Especially if you have parrots, I have heard. I no longer keep parrots, but they take great care of my elderly dog. Would be a 5 start, but it seems like they need a better software system to help vets and staff minimize sorting through numerous notes. I felt like I was often repeating/reminding my dogs meds and dosages to the staff. I think it's a catch-22 because the clinic is obviously diligent about all staff logging notes, which is fabulous! But, I think it makes it tough on the vets because the notes pertaining to their function are buried amongst misc notes. That's just a guess on my part, but all in all, they are a fabulous clinic.”

“Friendly staff, good with the dog and everyone made time to greet my pet. A 1-year old dog check up visit and all shots was $280 for the 15 to 20 minutes that we were there. This number seemed a bit more but not by much based on calls prior to setting appointment, understandable since there are so many variables. The only dislike is that they want you to use their pharmacy, if you want an option to shop and need a prescription they mandate another $8.00 in order to get a prescription. Business manager called to review the policy and seemed judgmental, although respectful. My rub is that this was my first visit based on reviews, I am looking for a small town feel. Their position on wanting another $8 after collecting $280 for visit and blood work seems petty and only focuses on the money not the well being of the pet! Good Luck!”

“I looked and looked everywhere for an inexpensive spaying appointment for my puppy, and could not find any place that wasn’t booked out for months or that was charging an arm and a leg. Even the “low cost” clinics near me were quoting me $300+. I finally stumbled upon Cause for Paws and was able to set an appointment despite them offering this service at a discount on Mondays only. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to the vet being sick and they offered to place me on a waiting list for another eligible spot on another Monday and I accepted. I didn’t hear back until a few weeks later and jumped on that appointment. It was definitely a busy morning when I arrived but I was greeted and attended to by friendly faces, even as my pup was getting so excited. They explained the process and offered additional add-ons such as flea and tick medication and microchip. It was a whole day thing but once I arrived to pick up my pup, it was pretty easy so I was in and out. My pup did end up figuring out a way around the cone to scratch at her incisions, so she did get irritated but overall healed nicely. Highly, highly recommend!”

“We've taken many of our dogs here over the past 7-10 years and have always received quick service. The doctor is realistic yet compassionate, and the staff have always been welcoming. We've had dogs that needed specialty care and the doctor was quick to refer us to specialist (diabetes/Cushings and ear specialist) instead of trying to get more money out of us. I recently brought in 4 kittens that my family rescued and the doctor was readily available, quick to treat them, honest, and affordable. He's a no nonsense doctor and in it for the animals. This is a no frills vet clinic that is there to provide excellent care for your fur babies at an affordable cost. I've recommended him to many friends and we will continue to take our dogs (and now cat) there.”

“Our Vet recommended we take our senior dog to The Vet At The Barn for a consultation to see what alternative treatments that they offer might help his arthritis and muscle weakness. We saw both a very seasoned Veterinarian who reviewed our dog's medical chart, did an examination and recommended a number of supplements we should try. She also agreed that physical therapy, cold laser and possibly acupuncture might be helpful. Next we saw a physical therapist who specializes with dogs and she did extensive range of motion testing that confirmed his joint troubles, muscle loss and weakness. She had a lovely manner with our dog, sat on the floor with him and he was relaxed and calm. She showed us proper massage techniques and scheduled him for water supported treadmill exercise. His appointment is next week so I can't comment on that process. So, the treatment people we met were kind, knowledgeable and thoughtful about our dog. The front office staff were friendly, attentive and clearly love animals. The only negative, and to us this was not a big deal, but the building is showing its age. It has not been well maintained. For us, as long as staff are well trained, their medical equipment state of the art and well maintained, the staff good to our loved one, the condition of the building is of minor importance. Thus far it has been a positive experience and hopefully, hopefully our dog will feel and do better with these interventions.”
