“Small 100 year old plus zoo in Wilmington Delaware. Still a destination especially if your close to town (we were in Philly) as this is a quaint and quick visit that is worth the time. And better yet the cost is nominal at best so please make a donation or hit the gift shop to help them out. And hey oh by the way ya might just learn something too. “We had not been to the zoo in 20 years. We took our children and grandchildren, and we all had a fantastic time! Our kids live in Norfolk, Seattle, and Portland. They agreed that this is the best zoo they have seen; so many animals, in beautiful, natural surroundings. Purchasing the platinum bracelet was a little expensive, (it supports the zoo????), but it was a great extra for our kids, ages 2-9. They rode the carousel 6 or 8 times, and enjoyed the sky tram! We all agreed that it was a great experience!”

“Great place to fish or just have a picnic. There is a portable toilet. Very clean and family friendly. I recommend stopping by if your in the Waysons Corner area. Grab a fishing pole, bait and lunch at the gas station right there. Great for a quick local getaway.”

“This under used park is an excellent birding spot. It's essentially a large field surrounded by woods. When the field has been mowed, it's fairly easy going, but it can be a little demanding when the grass is high. Boots and bug juice are helpful. There are a couple of basketball courts, but no other facilities. I haven't spent much time here in the Winter months, but Spring, Summer and Fall can be rewarding. It's reliable for Meadowlarks, Chats, Sparrows, Harriers, Prairie Warblers, Indigo Buntings, Common Yellowthroats and Grosbeaks. Friends tell me they find many more species. It's only a mile or so from Wooton's Landing, and I often combine visits to both places in a single outing.”

“Went here years ago in the summer and enjoyed it. Had even more fun this past week, going with my 2nd grader on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. Very kind, caring, patient staff. Fun hay ride. Nice pumpkin patch. Well-cared for variety of animals in the petting farm area. Clean portable toilets. I would recommend this place for the whole family, babies through grandparents. You can easily spend the whole day here.”

“Nice observation deck - a few short trails into the woods. A little far from most of the birds so bring long lenses or binoculars. It's always a good sign if you see a bald eagle as you're walking in. Great place to watch a sunset as it faces west.”

“This is a great place within the zoo for smaller kids to run off some steam. There are lots of different rooms for kids to 'play' zoo keeper, do crafts, water plants, dig in sand, pet some animals and more. My 2 and 4 year old love to visit. I love to go especially in hot, cold, or rainy weather.”
