1849 Backpackers

Super friendly manager whose son showed us to our room and gave us the key! He then gave each of us a complimentary slice of a delicious lime tart on the house!

Sure, parts of the backpacker hostel are somewhat run-down but this gives it history and charm and is evidence the place is well-loved. 1849 Hostel is the exact opposite of pretentious so don’t stay here is you are expecting five star.

My family stayed here for a night after a long drive from Perth and we will definitely come back! It screams character and the long-term tenants were so friendly to my kids.

We are so appreciative of everything. And we even had a couple of drinks at The Liberte which is ridiculously close-by! I think it was voted as one of the best Pubs in WA a while ago.

Awesome stay at 1849. Needed a quick bed for the night, call Abraham and he got us the last room.

Really chilled place with everybody just doing their own thing. Room was clean and bed was comfy.

Recommende for any weary traveller. And Abraham definitely deserves a bonus .
