Mayville's Piano Studio

As a retired senior, in 2021 I thought I'd expand my horizons and fulfill a life-long dream to play piano. With great enthusiasm, I fired up Google and sure enough all the Music Apps on YouTube promised I'd be playing in Carnegie Hall by mid-year if I sent them cash each month. Since I wasn't born yesterday, I knew that these kinds of promises weren't completely realistic just like the Nigerian prince who wanted to send me $10 million last year.
Oh well, on to the next step. Since Covid was then hot & heavy, finding a teacher to sit down with was out of the question. Luckily, Zoom had just become popular and forward-thinking instructors were gearing up quickly and began offering their services online. I again searched the internet and found teachers in New York, Montreal, Toronto and other remote locations with just one in a small town a few miles from me in Essex, Ont. Off went my email to request a start date.
Within one lesson, I knew I had struck gold by finding an understanding and kind person who is also an exceptionally skilled and experienced teacher with a wonderful manner and more patience than I'll ever have. We've been working together for more than two years and I credit her with all the progress that I've made to date. I look forward to my Tuesday morning lessons both online and face to face and plan to continue as long as possible.

She is an extremely knowledgeable teacher and provides a solid foundation of technique, theory, and playing skills.
