Really neat trail, that essentially has two parts to the loop - a shorter trail that'll probably take 30min and a longer loop that stretches further out into the part. There's plenty of signage with small facts about the park, trail, and surrounding area - human traces, land transformation, vegetation, etc. There's plenty of boardwalks on the longer loop, but depending on the season there's little marsh as it's dry.
So interesting to learn about homesteaders on the Point.
Beautiful diverse trail. Learn about the people who lived in the houses that still stand. Learn about the variety of different habitats and terrains. Boardwalk path and dirt path. Look out towers about mid way through walk. Be careful as wildlife deteriorate the quality of boardwalk every year. Definitely a must go for everyone!
Delaurier trail is the trail for photographers and bird 🐦 watching. Good quality camara 📷 with telephoto lense and or binoculars are recommended.
Our walk was quick as we had kids in the group. But we saw Northern saw-whetl owl , dozen of blue jays, hawks , garter snake, snapping turtle, lots types of prey mantis.
Beaver activity are extremely high. Respect the nature and stay quite.
Beatiful trail with lots of bird watching opportunities. Saw many birds and garter snakes . Was lucky to see a Saw-whet owl. A very small owl on a tree right next to the trail. Enjoyed thoroughly.
