Delaurier Homestead And Trail

Address: Leamington, ON N8H 3V4, Canada

Park

“Really neat trail, that essentially has two parts to the loop - a shorter trail that'll probably take 30min and a longer loop that stretches further out into the part. There's plenty of signage with small facts about the park, trail, and surrounding area - human traces, land transformation, vegetation, etc. There's plenty of boardwalks on the longer loop, but depending on the season there's little marsh as it's dry.”

Festival Plaza

Address: City Centre, Windsor, ON N9A, Canada

St. Clair Shores Park

Address: 200 Amy Croft Dr, Windsor, ON N9K 1E7, Canada

Park

“Child loves this park. Only thing is that a large group of men (approx 8-10) tend to gather close to the play yard on one of the benches despite not having children there. As a single mom, it does make me a little uncomfortable so i avoid going when i drive by and see this and go to another park in a different area (though it may have to do with a past trauma. Not sure if that may be having a larger impact on my opinion or if its just instinct)”

Ojibway Prairie Provincial Nature Reserve

Address: 5200 Matchette Rd, Windsor, ON N9C 4E8, Canada

Park

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Ojibway Prairie Provincial Nature Reserve, and I must say, it was a truly unforgettable experience. This protected natural area, located in Windsor, Ontario, exceeded all my expectations and left me in awe of the beauty and diversity of the Canadian wilderness. The first thing that struck me upon arrival was the serenity of the reserve. As soon as you step foot onto the well-maintained trails, you're enveloped by a sense of tranquility and peace. The sounds of birds chirping, leaves rustling in the breeze, and the occasional rustle of small wildlife create a symphony of nature that instantly puts you at ease. The variety of ecosystems within Ojibway Prairie is simply astounding. From the lush prairies to the vibrant wetlands, and from the dense woodlands to the sprawling savannahs, each area presents a unique landscape with its own distinct flora and fauna. It's an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and photographers alike. The birdwatching opportunities, in particular, are unparalleled, as the reserve is home to a wide array of migratory and resident species, including some rare and endangered ones. The informative interpretive signs along the trails are a significant asset, providing visitors with valuable insights into the reserve's ecological importance and the efforts made in its conservation. The conservation efforts and dedication of the staff and volunteers to preserve this natural gem are evident and commendable. The trails are well-marked and maintained, making navigation easy for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're looking for a leisurely stroll or a more challenging hike, Ojibway Prairie has something to offer. I particularly enjoyed the elevated boardwalk that allows you to walk above the wetlands, providing a unique perspective and a chance to observe aquatic life up close. One aspect that stands out about Ojibway Prairie is its commitment to education and community engagement. The visitor center provides a wealth of educational resources and interactive exhibits that further enrich the experience. It's a great place for families to learn about the local ecosystem and environmental stewardship. Overall, Ojibway Prairie Provincial Nature Reserve is a true gem, a haven of natural beauty, and a testament to the importance of conservation efforts. Whether you're a nature lover, a casual visitor, or someone seeking a peaceful retreat, this reserve has something special to offer. I left with a deep appreciation for the delicate balance of nature and a renewed sense of responsibility to protect and cherish our precious natural habitats. I can't wait to return and explore more of this incredible sanctuary in the future.”

Lasalle Community Dog Park

Address: LaSalle, ON N9J 2T7, Canada

“Great dog park for the Lasalle area. Separate area for small dogs (25lbs). Entrance is separate by dog sizes and double-gated to avoid accidental escapes. Each entrance area has a nice water bowl feature including running water easy to activate with a foot pedal. We've taken our dogs Bentley and Meeko several times and they've had a great time meeting new friends and running free. A kind visitor left a wonderful 'toy box' for dogs to play with and enjoy.”

Millen Park

Address: 1925 S Middle Rd, South Woodslee, ON N0R 1V0, Canada

“This is a park I frequent. One of the best parks close to home. 3 baseball diamonds, playground with swingsets, and a public library. Although currently due to situations the library is currently closed. There are 2 bathrooms accesible to people at this park along with a water bottle refill station. Plenty of area for kids to run around and there is a walking track that goes around the perimeter of the park. Plenty of benches around, and the pavillion has multiple picnic tables. I highly recommend paying this park a visit if you have children! Also recommend if you are looking for a good place for a walk.”

Pleasant Valley Campground

Address: 808 Essex County Rd 20, Kingsville, ON N9Y 1H8, Canada

Campground Park Lodging

“This campground is really great. I’m rather saddened by the reviews as I know many of them are written out of anger because someone didn’t get their way and didn’t respect park rules. I think the issue is that many individuals feel as though they are family when they stay here, and should be able to get away with not following the rules. When the rules don’t get bent for them, that’s when they start sharing harsh words about the campground and management. All campgrounds have rules, and following the rules here will lead to happy staff, happy management, happy owners, and therefore a happy camper😊”
