Yo, check it! This sweet park, kickin' it since 1903, covers about 7.3 hectares and hosts the Balmy Beach Club. You got lawn bowling, a playground, and even outdoor workout gear. Plus, the Martin Goodman Trail runs right alongside the beach, perfect for strollin' or bikin'. And don't forget the Silverbirch Dogs Off-Leash Area down by the shore, from Silver Birch Ave to Nursewood Road. It's cool for commercial dog walkers, and yeah, it's open, no fences needed.
I absolutely love Balmy beach. With a large stretch of sand, a wooden boardwalk, and spots in the grass or at picnic tables for hanging out, it's a great spot for summer days. The water is clear and nice for a swim, if you don't mind the cold. There's public washrooms available and it's located within walking distance to Queen St., so it's ideal to stay a while or head out for food/coffee and come back. The dog-friendly area is a decent size but also conveniently sectioned off from the rest of the beach area for some separation, especially on busy days.
Also much love to the Balmy Beach Rugby crew.
Balmy Beach Park in Toronto is an absolute gem! Its picturesque location along Lake Ontario provides breathtaking waterfront views and a serene atmosphere. The park boasts a well-maintained and spacious green space, perfect for picnics, outdoor games, or simply relaxing. The sandy beach offers a wonderful spot for sunbathing and swimming during the summer months. With well-kept facilities, including clean washrooms and ample parking, it's a hassle-free destination. Families will love the playgrounds and scenic walking trails. Whether you're seeking tranquility or recreation, Balmy Beach Park is an idyllic escape in the heart of the city!
A bit short on street parking but haven't had a problem finding a space on the weekday- early afternoons. Great beach to visit within the city, peaceful and there is a nice playground available. Very nice that there's a bathroom.
Such a mix of a quiet beach place with some nice patch of a vibrant outdoor physical activity area. People were biking, doing some group workouts, playing beach volleyball, or just walking along with their dogs. I love this place in Toronto.
