“**Avoid North York location at all costs! ** I booked the Hammam Rhassoul Clay Wrap at the Hammam Spa by Cela in Toronto. From start to finish, my experience was overwhelmingly positive, thanks to the professionalism and warmth of the staff, especially my spa attendant. She was attentive, respectful, and a delight to chat with, ensuring I was well-informed and comfortable throughout the treatment. Afterward, she surprised me with a lovely gesture of Turkish tea and some delightful treats, which added a special touch to my visit. The spa’s steam room was incredibly relaxing, providing the perfect environment to unwind after my treatment. However, the changing rooms left something to be desired—they were not as spacious as I would have liked, making it a bit challenging to move around comfortably. One issue that slightly marred my experience was the location of the quiet zone. Unfortunately, the door next to this area was frequently used by employees, leading to a constant flow of traffic that made it difficult to fully disconnect and relax. A better layout design could have significantly enhanced the tranquility of the space. Also, I found the spa slightly overpriced. It's also worth noting that my initial plan was to visit the North York location, but my experience over the phone was incredibly disappointing. The staff there were rude and unprofessional, and my attempt to address the issue with the spa manager, Giovanna, only made things worse. The situation escalated to the point where she raised her voice at me—a shocking and unacceptable behavior for a luxury spa. In contrast, my experience at the Toronto location was a breath of fresh air, thanks to the outstanding service from Jennifer and Rebecca. They truly went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful time. If you’re considering a visit to Hammam Spa by Cela, I strongly recommend choosing the Toronto location for a full and enjoyable guest experience. However, be mindful parking is not readily available, I assume due to the location. Arrive early if you’re driving to find a parking spot. **Avoid North York location at all costs! **”

“Amazing experience. We rented a tandem kayak and a recreational kayak to explore the island. The kayaks were clean and comfortable to sit on. And before we venture off, we were given clear instructions on where to go and how to control the kayaks. The water was very calm so it was very relaxing paddling. We got to see the beautiful skyline of CN Tower. And the sight of heron and other wildlife was very exciting. This is one activity we’ll come back again.”

“Decent tasting food, fairly priced and excellent service. I order the “Fish of the day” which was Sea bass with white rice, avocado salad and green plantains. Sea bass was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside moist in the inside, but it lacked in seasoning. I wasn’t too fond of the green plantain. However, the soup of the day “sea food soup” was amazing! It was the best dish overall. Lots of different kinds of sea food and bursting with flavour. Lastly, the Mojinica tasted like lemonade, no rum.”

“This company was outstanding beyond measure. In all honesty I was indeed quite worried about moving houses, especially considering that my furniture was extremely fragile and pretty expensive. I have moved over 6 times in my life and I have never ever had a move go so smoothly. Since the very start when I spoke to Connor on the phone he was extremely reassuring and careful to assist me in every need and concern I had. He wasn’t on a rush to get off the phone, asked valuable questions, and made sure that all of my furniture was to be taken care of diligently on the move day. He also made sure to accommodate what day and time I need, what truck size, and much more. The movers gave me a call a few days before moving day and an hour before coming on moving day, just to ensure that the timing was still good for me and that nothing had surprisingly come up in my schedule that might impede on the move. The movers even offered to get me a coffee or some breakfast on the way to my house and were extremely polite and well-mannered. Once they arrived to my door they all pleasantly introduced themselves and explained every step of the move before hand to keep me in the loop and alleviate any stress, questions, or concerns that I had. Not only were they extremely diligent and safe when wrapping every single piece of my furniture (to the point that none of my furniture was even exposed at all), but they did it in record time!!! They were even faster than other companies I have used who didn’t wrap my furniture AND they were cheaper!!!! Moving companies typically make excuses for everything and have hidden charges and worst of all they do mot take care of your furniture. This company really shows that all you need is a few good charactered individuals to make a humongous difference in the service. I am so impressed at these young men and such the level of professionalism they showed. If you are tired of bad moving companies in the GTA then I beg you to call West Atlantic Moving. You will be with the movers for pretty much a full day so it is imperative that you choose this outstanding group of individuals to surround yourself around. Trust me, they are worth every dollar. “I’ve been training at Mestando Paraíba’s academy for years, since before he made the huge decision to branch out on his own, founding Capoeira Bamba. THE GROUP: Capoeira Bamba is the only capoeira group that offers classes six days a week. There is a friendly, energetic, and supportive vibe; everyone is welcome – regardless of skill or fitness level. I’m a queer, middle-aged woman of colour. Although capoeira is often known to be a ‘macho’ and intimidating martial art, I feel at home at Capoeira Bamba. There are members from all walks of life and we get along swimmingly. Many of the students make fast friends and hang out or practice outside of class. THE INSTRUCTORS: Mestrando Paraíba: Training since the age of 12, Mestrando Paraíba is a skilled and experienced capoeirista. As an instructor and mentor, I’ve seen him grow leaps and bounds over the last several years – both in wisdom and methodology. Although he hails from an incredibly strict and rigid training background, M. Paraíba strives to offer autonomy and flexibility to his students. He often demonstrates modified exercises to accommodate the needs of different students. He listens to feedback and takes it to heart. While he admits, teaching children was not always his strong suit, he has really come into his own. I’ve seen him teach several children’s classes and the kids LOVE him. He strikes the perfect balance between structure and fun. Great behaviour management and anti-bullying strategies, too. I’ll admit, sometimes M. Paraíba can come across as a bit intimidating, but he has a big heart, always giving it his all and cracking a funny joke here and there! He is such an excellent, well-rounded instructor with just the right amount of toughness to get you motivated. Instrutora Neném: What can I say? Instrutora Neném is a ray of sunshine! She is bubbly, kind, warm, and hilarious; but don’t let that distract from the fact that she is an accomplished capoeirista and instructor who kicks some serious butt! Her teaching style is easygoing and she breaks down moves in a way that a toddler can understand — speaking of which, she is amazing at teaching little ones! As a former elementary teacher, I can appreciate how Neném effectively differentiates instruction and holds kids’ attention. THE ACADEMY: The academy is the most beautiful capoeira facility I have ever seen. It is one of the only spaces dedicated entirely to capoeira. During the transition to becoming Capoeira Bamba, many students pitched in to help renovate the space. There is a definite sense of pride and ownership we feel towards it. The interior consists of beautiful dark, hardwood floors; a feature logo wall with hand-burned details, a funky graffiti accent wall by a local artist; and large, full-sized mirrors along most walls. Some of the equipment includes free weights, strength training and conditioning equipment, a heavy bag, a variety of martial arts pads and targets, gymnastics equipment, a large, inflatable gymnastics pad, etc. There is too much to list! Attendance is tracked by a barcode scanning system. Those with top attendance can win free private lessons from M. Paraíba.”
