“The outside seating has the best ambiance I've ever had. One wall has a waterfall and in the pond below there's a real turtle and some fake ducks. Nice tropical plush trees around it. Service was good but typical Mexican fashion you have to request your check when you're done with your meal or they'll let you sit there and enjoy the ambience. I had the coconut shrimp which was really good my husband had the chili relleno which I've never seen it serve like that the presentation was beautiful. Also both meals were very flavorful. We went on a Wednesday night and they had a single musician playing which was pretty good no singing, just music. When someone was celebrating her birthday they had a guitarist come out and play for her. Makes you feel like you're at a high end establishment. It was above $25 for a good meal per person. It will definitely be on our rotation when we come back. I've included photos of everything I saw inside including the outside in our meal. We had the cheesecake with fruit for dessert and it was absolutely delicious and piled with fruit. I also had a glass of red wine sangria which is delicious as well full of fruit. If you go down the stairs they have a cedar room where does the aroma is amazing with walls surrounded with wine. Definitely take a trip down there and check it out. I saw a sewing machine similar to the one my grandmother had.”

“Visited Papas & beer for the weekend. Very Fun weekend with alot of memories! Music could have had more Variety as they played the same songs every few hrs & all 3 nights visited. They also need more bottle service areas as everyone was getting buckets so they started kicking out other peoples from spots they have been in all night ordering to accommodate more people through out the night. Majority of staff was super friendly and respectful! I never had a problem when using the women’s restroom but i did pass by a very long line throughout the night being glad i didnt have to use the restroom in that moment! Met alot of dope people! Open bar was crazy busy but super worth it! Loved the beach access as it was definitely one of my favorite parts!”

“We came to go to la Estrella and this place offered parking. We paid $100 pesos for parking but then decided to see what the view was like. This side of the peninsula was more peaceful than the other side facing the main beach; those restaurants had mariachi bands and tons of people. We sat on the second floor in the glass in area that was warm and limited the wind so that we could eat in comfort. I found it classy that after we sat down, the guy came back and gave us our $100 for parking back since we're now eating here. We ordered fresh marshall crab that was served in a garlic butter sauce... The freshest crab I've EVER eaten! We also got the breaded shrimp with rice and beans... it was to die for! I never would have ordered seafood "breaded" but my boyfriend wanted it and it's his birthday, so he got it! ...it wasn't American style thick breading; it was light and an amazing sauce, cooked to perfection, with fresh corn tortillas, salad, rice and beans. The food was top notch and the view can't be beat.. you're literally sitting over top of the oven facing west with the sunset right out your window, and there's 3 levels to choose from. Atmosphere and food are absolutely 5 out of 5 stars! Our waiter was probably 12 years old. While he was very efficient and highly service oriented, the poor kid never smiled, didn't speak any English yet (we speak Spanglish so figured it out, and they brought another guy by who spoke English to help when ordering). I ordered a Pina colada (which was Delicious! Kind of like a horchata pina colada with cinnamon on it), and a tecate roja. I was mainly upset that they brought me a regular tecate original and when paying the check, cleared it from the table while I want looking though there was a quarter the beer left! Also, as other people mentioned in their reviews, the actual prices were higher than on the menu. I was going to complain but my boyfriend did the calculation and for the $170 pesos difference (after taxes and servicio and higher drink prices), the difference was like $9 US. Since the fresh crab was only $100 pesos and we didn't feel like arguing in Spanish about it, we just paid it. Plus, frankly, every restaurant we've been to down here, the prices were slightly different than on the menu. At least at Papas & Beer, they came out and told us in advance that they are charging higher than the menu for some items before bringing them to us. Regardless, still an AMAZING seafood feast for two, with 4 drinks (margaritas Pina colada and beers), all for under $45 US! I'd still go back and recommend it highly.”
