X BANK Amsterdam

Part of the W Hotel, X Bank is a fascinating high-end concept store situated on the first floor of premises that formerly housed the landmark Kas bank. When the bank originally opened in 1908, it was the first concrete building in the city. This upmarket store showcases products and talent from leading Dutch artists, artisans, designers and manufacturers, many of whom are based in Amsterdam.

A spiral staircase leads to 700 square meters of floor space with high ceilings and great views of Spuistraat and Dam Square. Here you can find an amazing assortment of men and women's clothing, aftershaves and perfumes, artwork, bicycles, books, ceramics, fashion accessories, fabrics, furniture, jewellery, locally crafted gins and other spirits, photography, vases and unique gifts and souvenirs, representing some 200 brands and makers. Prices range from around 10 Euro to many tens of thousands of Euro and there is something for everyone. Here you will find products from the cream of Dutch designers, many of whom are the envy of the global fashion and design market.

X Bank regularly hosts both small and large scale exhibitions, meet and greet events, occasional sales and lectures. Their collection is constantly updated so that every visit brings something new. Super friendly staff are on hand to assist and provide further background information. One can dine at the adjoining Duchess restaurant with its splendid decor and outstanding menu. The ground floor has a bar and coffee lounge and an ever changing art gallery.

This multi-purpose space serves as an epicentre of Dutch design. It is an exciting place to discover new talent, as well as the very best in Dutch artwork, craftmanship and design.

store sells only high end items, so it seems expensive, but even webshops could not offer me a lower price, so id say the value for money is alright :-)

You can find fantastic Dutch design clothes and goods. The staffs are very friendly. This time I bought some lovely chocolates for presents.
